I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

the ga~ that is a really good point....I bet she's just not ready to go on yet. They would, without doubt, have an understudy for such a difficult role, so she must not be ready yet...
does this remind anyone else of the whole heather/merle situation with AIDA?
awkward.

How true is this? (playbill.com) "Wicked is proving to be a bit of a dangerous proposition for its leading ladies. Kristin Chenoweth, who originated the role of Glinda, suffered a neck injury during the show's out-of-town tryout in San Franciso. And, Tony Award winner Idina Menzel broke a rib during her final weekend of performances on Broadway."
It isn't a curse, it is just what happens when a show has such a large budget and such a large, and wholly dangerous set and special effects. I like WICKED a lot, but it is too big for it's own good...
No,wickedrocks, playbill didn't make that up....kristin did suffer a neck injury and had to wear a neckbrace for a few weeks. Let me say, from what I've heard, she WORKED that neck brace OUT!
awkward.

So, this is what happened. Yesterday, they had a fantastic run through. Everything went beautifully. It was a dress rehearsal with an audience. Afterwards, they asked Stephanie to stay around for a few more moments, as they wanted to do another 'flying' rehearsal, and make sure everything was working properly. This took place at 11pm. Everything was going fine, until, one of the wires on the harness let go, and so she was hanging by only one wire, and everyone was screaming to let her down, but instead of letting her down, they were raising the wires instead, and bringing her up. Her whole entire right side of her body is completely bruised from her neck to her feet, she is swollen and, having muscle spasms, and though she is in pain, she is in good spirits.
I dont get it, wires don't have all that much to do with it. Isn't she just clamped around her waist? Or perhaps it's different for the tour? I'm confused...

that's like final destination. first idina, skip shoshana, now stephanie, exactly 2months later...though she was hurt last night.
Hope she gets better. What a conspiracy.
A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it,
but all she really dreams is to make someone
else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer.
And that is so beautiful-Anonymous
this is awful it can't be denied that the whole elphaba thing is a little weird, but you also have to take into consideration that the role is very demanding and entails several reasonably dangerous effects.
Yeah, I don't get the wire thing, unless the tour "flying" is VERY different from the Broadway apple picker.
From what I understand there's more flying in the tour production because some entrances had to be changed due to lack of trap doors in the stages they'll be playing on.

I live in upstate NY and most of the people in this area that wanted to see "Wicked" are going up to Toronto. Bad luck for them if they have tickets for the first few days, but I'm sure Kristy will be good. Thank God I went to NYC and saw Idina in it before the curse started. lol
