re: PHOTOS: Ladies & Gentlemen... The Hottness Known as 'Heidi The Sea Witc  Feb 13 2009, 04:25:11 PM
I don't like the changes to the wig, I think the way they curl it now makes it seem too fake and stiff. The way they started off doing it was really cool. I don't understand why they're taking away so much make-up too. To me, it just looks weird how she has that blue skin suit thing, and then a white face.

But Heidi is absolutely cramazing.

re: Little Mermaid question  Feb 13 2009, 04:21:43 PM
I've always seen it as Ursula taking Ariel's voice her putting a handicap on Ariel's ability to charm the Prince, because without it she'd have a very hard time 'woo'ing him within the three day time limit. The deal was that if she couldn't get him to kiss her, then she gives her soul to Ursula, who would then use it as a bargaining chip for the Trident. After all, Ursula was bitter about being out of power, not about having a bad voice.
re: Heidi at TLM Tonight?  Jan 29 2009, 11:23:27 PM
Instead of having a chiffon tail thing wrapped around her that made her do that spin-twist number, it was more of a...see through fabric that was cut to the shape of a fin and she wore it as a dress. So as she moved up, she would lightly 'kick' it off, I really liked it...except for how (and its like this with the new one too) when the fabric fell it just fell onto the floor in plain day.

I wish some pictures would emerge of her in the role. I wish I could make it up there to see her, but I won't be going to NY until the summer
re: Heidi at TLM Tonight?  Jan 28 2009, 11:49:09 PM
Her old transformation in Denver was better I think. She's a lot more graceful, and thus doesn't look like she's having a seizure on her way to the surface. >_>
re: THE LITTLE MERMAID - 1/25/09 - Sherie Rene Scott's Final Performance  Jan 25 2009, 09:53:26 PM
Was this her last last performance, or is she returning after her own show ends?
Best homemade costumes.  Jan 23 2009, 12:32:00 AM
I came across this video

and it made me wonder what's the best homemade costume you've seen?

re: Which Elphaba was the best?  Jan 23 2009, 12:29:00 AM
I'm going to go with Kerry Ellis being my all time favorite to listen to. I really love Julia Murney too, her vibrato is unlike anything I've heard, plus I love her ending to DG. Marcie Dodd isn't that bad either, and Lisa is great too. I'm not a huge Idina fan, but she has her moments where she just nails it.

re: I Finally Get It!!  Dec 11 2008, 10:17:04 PM
I agree in some cases. Take Wicked for example, although Idina "is" Elphaba to me, I like Kerry Ellis SOO much more...actually, I don't like Idina at all really.

But, yeah. The OBC of [title of show] is it for me. Like no one else can play Jeff, Susan, Hunter, and Heidi except Jeff, Susan, Hunter, and Heidi. Call me crazy, but I guess its just my taste.

re: Embarrassed by 'fans'  Dec 1 2008, 09:17:20 PM
I'm an avid [tos] fan. I'm not crazy, but I really enjoy it. Haha, I was Jeff for Halloween...yeah.

For the longest time I despised Wicked because of the kreepy (yes, with a 'k') fans, and the Idina fanatics. I'd even come across a song and convince myself I didn't like it. Not so much now, I decided to ignore the fans and appreciate the work of art that it is, which is kind of how I feel about all shows.

And...ok, I absolutely love the Lord of the Rings Musical in London.

re: What happened to originality?  Nov 30 2008, 04:31:40 PM
Sorry Patash, my bad. I just looked at the list and thought "He can't be serious". I'll read closer next time =]
re: What happened to originality?  Nov 30 2008, 12:45:12 PM
Then would the "Tony Blair: The Musical" count as original?
Seriously.

re: What happened to originality?  Nov 30 2008, 12:32:39 PM
"So true. Not like the old days when no musicals were based on movies, plays, or books!

Really original things, like:

The King and I
Camelot
Oliver"

Seriously? If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the King and I was based off of "Anna and the King of Siam", and I'm sure Camelot is based off of the King Arthur story. Oliver? As in Oliver Twist, the book by Dickens?

re: wicked the movie cast?  Nov 29 2008, 11:34:14 PM
Kerry Ellis as Elphaba maybe?

They could go the way of PotO, and have actors dubbed by a singer.

Edit: Meryl Streep might make a good Morrible.

re: TWILIGHT THE MUSICAL!!!  Nov 29 2008, 11:22:08 PM
It could happen...

and then Susan Blackwell would kill it, saving everyone from the screaming fangirls.

re: Did Heidi Blickenstaff Ever Go On For Ursula?  Nov 4 2008, 09:21:51 PM
I've seen some of Cicily's performance, and while I thought it was good, I didn't really think the emotion she brought really fit the stage Ursula that well. I'd really like to see Meredith in the role!

They should totally make understudy recordings and sell them on itunes or something.

In the completely unlikely chance...  Nov 4 2008, 03:04:31 PM
that LoTR came to Broadway (the London version, not Toronto) who would you like to see in the cast?
re: Did Heidi Blickenstaff Ever Go On For Ursula?  Nov 4 2008, 03:03:07 PM
That really sucks that SRS is just going through the motions. After a video I watched that may or may not be on *that site* I thought she had gotten her momentum back up, but apparently not.

Hopefully Heidi will completely rock it, I know with [tos] fans in there she'll get some applause...too bad it's SO expensive.

Has anyone seen the other understudy go on for Ursula (not Cicily)?

re: Did Heidi Blickenstaff Ever Go On For Ursula?  Nov 1 2008, 11:45:24 AM
I don't know what's up with her. From most of the stuff I've seen, she's been pretty perfect for the role, but I have seen her in one of those "bleh" moods once. I just don't really understand how you can be bored with the Ursula character.
