Does merchandise go on sale at theaters as shows draw to a close?  Aug 8 2014, 03:32:02 PM
I work merch for Rocky and can say that a few of the smaller items have dropped in price, and some major items (windowcards, mugs) are already sold out completely.
Thoughts on Spider-Man  May 26 2011, 12:02:54 PM
Actually no, the performance was not representative of what you hear in the theatre...ALL of what Bono was singing is not in the show. The arrangment/orchestration was completely different as well. In the show, there is a B section in the song with Arachne singing a completely different melody line. And for the record, I think the theatrical version is pretty beautiful.
SPIDER-MAN Cast/ Song Listing/ Understudies  May 20 2011, 02:42:08 AM
Just a note: "Think Again" was in the Playbill as of last night when I saw it BUT was not in the show. Was the song in it when the show came back and just got cut in the last few days?
WAR HORSE Rush  May 13 2011, 06:18:34 PM
Echoing what others have said in this thread. It's been so sold out that there have been almost no rush tickets sold whatsoever. And yes, it's a very moving piece. I defy anyone to walk away after seeing it not feeling touched in some way. I loved it.
Have you seen a show in every Broadway house?  Apr 4 2011, 01:01:18 PM
I haven't seen a show in these:

Ethel Barrymore
Cort
Samuel J. Friedman
American Airlines
August Wilson
Minskoff
Nederlander
Brooks Atkinson

So close!

Company at the NY Phil - Full Cast Announced  Mar 29 2011, 08:21:16 PM
So glad they're including the Vocal Minority! One of the things I love most about the Original Broadway Cast Recording is the use of those background singers, such as in "Another Hundred People" (Though I think it's only present on certain issues of the recording).
Is the stage so high for Sister Act that the rush tickets are really miserable?  Mar 29 2011, 08:10:03 PM
No, not at all.
Best/Worst of the Season?  Mar 27 2011, 10:57:15 PM
Best: Book of Mormon

Worst: Wonderland

Anyone going to see Wonderland this week?  Mar 24 2011, 05:32:33 PM
The Allstate line was still in last night. If I remember correctly, it's said when the Hatter leaves stage right with the little girl and her rabbit henchman on that odd tank-like vehicle.

Also, did anyone else think that any emotional impact of the ending was wasted because the entire ending seemed way too rushed? Starting with the odd unexplained "death" of the Hatter and the White Knight through the ending song, the whole things just came to an abrupt finish.

"Can I just say that it was so bad last night, the rear-right orchestra at one point in act 2 just started snickering at how pathetic the show was?"

Yes, I was there last night and remember this. I think it was at the point where the story literally BECAME the Wizard of Oz except completely off the mark. Alice even sings a song called HOME.

I'll be there!
Reviews of Chicago Fan Day Performance  Jan 31 2011, 11:31:06 PM
I think BN's just bitter.
Well they can stay and rot, but not Rose!  Jan 22 2011, 02:43:59 PM
While Bernadette did not take the ending of Some People up, her standby Maureen Moore did. However, Bernadette DID do that higher note on "through" in Everything's Coming Up Roses (which is CERTAINLY not an octave higher), as recorded on the cast recorded.
Final In The Heights Weekend  Jan 10 2011, 02:34:30 AM
As others have said, the final performance was fantastic and so full of energy. I too can only compare the energy to the final performance of Hairspray...there were three rows of former cast members in a block of seats house right, where I watched the show from, and they not only had flags up for Carnaval, but did some choreo and ensemble stuff along with the performers onstage. One of my favorite moments from the show tonight was Marcy knocking the wine bottle over and recovering with one hell
NIGHT MUSIC officially recoups.....  Jan 7 2011, 08:58:39 PM
Regardless of whether you like her performance or not, it's just a fact that Elaine has been struggling with her lines throughout this entire run. I've seen her 8-10 times since the new cast re-opened the show and there have almost always been issues with her memory of the lines. She even flubbed her first line that opens the show, one night with Sondheim in attendance.
Spiderman Preview Thread!  Jan 7 2011, 08:45:20 PM
I just saw via twitter that the show tonight it currently on hold due to colliding set pieces and an issue with the rigging. Anyone have any more information?
Lin-Manuel Miranda's First Performance Back  Dec 27 2010, 04:11:21 PM
Noah Rivera was injured maybe a few months ago, and I'm not sure if he's unable to finish the Broadway run.
Saying goodbye to In the Heights: Your favorite memories  Dec 25 2010, 12:20:12 PM
Well, that was just rude to post in a thread that is clearly meant as a nostalgic sendoff for us fans of the show.

For me, one of my favorite shows at Heights was Robin's last performance. Very high energy, and an amazing audience. I will miss this show dearly since I am there at the Rodgers so often.

Your favorite stage illusions  Dec 12 2010, 10:02:00 PM
I agree re: Defying Gravity's staging. I find it a bit more creative/artistically done. Both are cool though!
