Les miserables seating advice  Nov 7 2014, 04:57:50 PM
While I haven't seen les miz yet (going try to see it this weekend possibly), the other shows at the imperial I have seen the stage is actually not very high. I I remember right, row aa for billy Elliot, your head was ABOVE The stage. I sat a few rows back for nice work and while I don't remember if it was as low as billy, I remember seeing everyone's feet well duringthe dances, so I imagine it was similar. By no means is it anything.like the Palace (neck brace anyone?)
Is the Newsies tour worth $85 to $95?  Nov 7 2014, 04:11:03 PM
Is it worth 85-95? Well that is a decent price for a tour. I saw the show two years ago on Broadway. Loved it. Talked to someone that saw one of the tour's previews. She said the show seemed quite "messy" in comparison to when she saw the broadway production. I didn't ask her exactly what she meant by that, and I imagine kinks were still getting worked out. So take that for what it is worth.
Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 9/29/13  Sep 30 2013, 06:24:31 PM
Rough first week and a half of previews for The Winslow Boy. Not that Rees is a huge name, but I would think there would be at least a little draw considering the low average ticket price through all the preview discounts that are out there. If that doesn't improve in the next couple weeks, I doubt it will make it to it's scheduled closing date of 12/01.

Wouldn't be shocked to see closing notices for R&J, Cinderella, First Date, Spiderman in the next month. I doubt the closing date

MY FAIR LADY coming back to Broadway in 2014?  Feb 9 2013, 06:46:48 PM
My dream casting for this revival:

Cast Kelli O'Hara as Eliza.

Either John Laroquette, Michael Park, kevin Spacey, or Harry Groener as Henry Higgens.

Colin Donnell as Freddy.

Joel Grey as Alfred P. Doolittle.

Palace Theatre Seating  Jan 6 2013, 10:32:44 AM
Go for Mez, the Balcony makes one feel like a seat belt should be provided with every ticket. I've sat in the balcony once, and pretty much every where else in that theatre.
Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 12/30/12  Jan 3 2013, 12:08:59 AM
Only when there is a 6 in 3 does a production need to give actors an extra day off.
Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 12/30/12  Jan 2 2013, 05:57:19 PM
Looks like since I looked last they have corrected the total attendance as you said, but have yet to correct the total gross or percentage of house. The gross should read 2,308,284. (Presuming the average ticket price is accurate.)
Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 12/30/12  Jan 2 2013, 04:37:11 PM
"Let me just congratulate War Horse and especially BRING IT ON on ending their runs with their heads held high and high grosses as well."

War Horse closes on the 6th.

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 12/30/12  Jan 2 2013, 04:34:53 PM
Great week overall, although don't expect most of those numbers to even remotely hold up. Particularly Annie. Really encouraging to see such a strong holiday week!

And with Spiderman, if you divide total attendance for the week by the capacity you get 10.3 (meaning they had enough tickets sold for over 10 sold out performances. So if the actual attendance number is right (it coincides with the attendance times the average ticket price for the week), then they must have sold over 2,00

Miracle On 34th Street as a musical?  Dec 24 2012, 03:38:37 PM
Troupe America took a production of Miracle on 34th Street to Modesto California for a run this month.
A Christmas story Ralphie Question  Dec 3 2012, 01:12:07 AM
Ok, this answer is a bit vague and generalized, but it still answers your question. Looking over the cast list, there is no alternate listed. Ralphie has a standby. Therefore, the principal actor (Rabe) goes on for every performance, unless announced prior to the performance and you see that little white slip of death as I once heard someone refer to it as. There is no set schedule for when the Stand by would go on. So likely you would see Rabe at any performance unless he is sick, has some

Based solely upon the clips Playbill posted this afternoon/evening: I am REALLY underwhelmed with this...
Appomattox- Guthrie Theater- Christopher Hampton  Oct 22 2012, 04:31:39 PM
In particular with Harry Groener (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Oklahoma, Crazy For You) as Abe Lincoln and LBJ.
Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 10/21/12  Oct 22 2012, 04:27:44 PM
Nice Work just continues to hold it's own. The number's I will be interested in over the next few weeks is how Annie ends up doing now as it approaches opening. And then what happens with drood. Even with the 10 dollar ticket deals, in such a small house, it will be interesting if they will be able to start selling more tickets when more full price tickets are sold.
Appomattox- Guthrie Theater- Christopher Hampton  Oct 20 2012, 06:08:43 PM
So since Rebecca isn't going to happen anytime soon, there is another work by Christopher Hampton that is getting it's world premier right now. Anyone seen it? Thoughts?
Roger Bart, Raul Esparza and Rory O'Malley on L&O:SVU  Oct 13 2012, 03:34:34 PM
I really liked it. Rory, I would like to see show up again. And Roger is always a good choice for any distasteful person. And I was particularly impressed with how well Raul fit in with the show. I hope he starts showing up more often on the show.

EricMontreal22 makes a good point about a show with likely quite a few kids in the audience.
Annie Preview Thread  Oct 9 2012, 05:07:19 PM
Well the Overture on the OBCR is 3:21. And the 30th Anniversary recording it is 4 minutes.

Annie Preview Thread  Oct 8 2012, 02:21:09 PM
"A lackluster "Easy Street"? No Overture? Those are deal breakers for me."

Sounds like this show needs A New Deal for Christmas. Ok, I need more sleep...

BILLIY ELLIOT = Snoozefest  Oct 2 2012, 10:35:27 PM
Maybe I am a little biased, but nothing can beat when my bff Peter Mazurowski performed as Billy in the Broadway production.
