Nice Work is having itself a nice little run this Fall. If they can find a name to come in and replace Broderick they can probably get another year out of it. It would probably move easily to a smaller house if Houdini is given the Imperial for Hugh Jackman.
Evita is holding up well, even with Ricky only doing 7 a week (you are correct, Mondays off). Elena Roger was out most of last week as well.
Drood has some great word of Mouth after its first weekend.
Nice Work just continues to hold it's own. The number's I will be interested in over the next few weeks is how Annie ends up doing now as it approaches opening. And then what happens with drood. Even with the 10 dollar ticket deals, in such a small house, it will be interesting if they will be able to start selling more tickets when more full price tickets are sold.
I am thrilled for Nice Work! I really hope to see it around Christmas. I am however shocked (and maybe I shouldn't be) at Scandalous! I think Drood will do just fine. I think this weeks numbers were expected and are good for most shows.
As a very early supporter of "Nice Work", I continue to be thrilled with it's box office performance this fall. Word of mouth has really helped this show since it is a great nite of musical comedy. If the Tony awards were held about a month or so later, it would have won more including a nomination for Broderick. Like with most Broderick performances, catch it later in the run and it just keeps getting better. Also, I hope Chaplin continues to pick up some audience as it goes. Although not the greatest show I've seen, it does have some good moments and Rob McClure's performance is excellent. Scandalous is in serious trouble. May not make the holiday season.
