Shows where the original cast album is NOT the best recording? Nov 11
2011, 09:55:51 AM
I may be slaughtered for saying this, but I enjoy the 1967 cast of Dolly, led by "Miss Purlie Mae" outshines the 1964 cast led by Dolly Levi... I mean Carol Channing... I always get those two mixed up. lol. I also agree with the 2008 Revival of Sout Pacific.

Assassins - I'm confused Nov 4
2011, 11:51:30 PM
My understanding is this- The show was not VASTLY changed from it's original 1990's Off-Broadway production, thus, the Tony Committee called it a Revival... It also happened the year before with Little Shop of Horrors... Though they never made an official Broadway Bow in their original runs, they were presented in generally the same structure. (Other than production values. Costumes, Set Design, Etc...)

Strong, Strong scenes Oct 25
2011, 11:20:44 PM
I don't know much classical theatre. If you are willing to shift to contemporary, the opening scene of Beyond Therapy is a good, strong scene. It's a comedy written by Christopher Durang.
