WBS Children's Theatre Offers Two Summer Camp Options


The Whole Backstage Children's Theatre is VERY HAPPY to announce Camp Under the Big Top 2012! This summer camp JULY 30-August 3, 2012 (8:30AM-Noon) is for children ages 5-15 and will center around all things that lead to stardom. This week will give children the opportunity to experience theatre on a new level. The week will be an Under the Big Top "theme" and children will learn about costumes, set design, acting, musical thetre, etc. Registration will open June 1! Spaces are are limited. Price for the weeklong camp is $130 per child with family discounts being offered. The cost of camp includes tuition, supplies, a camp t-shirt, and snack each day. If you have ever considered enrolling your child in theatre classes, but were unsure because of the commitment, this is the perfect opportunity to try it out! Camp will be from each day July 30-August 3 with a snack break included.


The Whole Backstage Children's Theatre is pumping up its camp programs for the summer. In addition to CAMP UNDER THE BIG TOP - which is more of an all around theatre arts camp -the WBS Children's THeatre will host MUSCIAL THEATRE SHOW-OFFS. This one week camp will occur in the afternoons of CAMP UNDER THE BIG TOP from 1-530PM. Each day children ages 9-16 will have the
chance to participate in an intensive musical theatre camp.

Students will rehearse a one act musical called THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ. This musical retelling of THE WIZARD OF OZ will be presented for family and friends of the campers and the
public on Friday August 3rd at 7PM inside the Whole Backstage Theatre in the Dot Moore AuditoriuM. Campers who wish to participte in MUSCIAL THEATRE SHOW OFFS should show
a high interest in musical theatre and be willing to sing in a chorus and perform some light choreography.

MUSICAL THEATRE SHOW-OFFS registration will open June 1. Camp is $130 per child. Family discounts will be offered and camp combo packages are also available. Financial aid is available for
families who request assistance.

If your children are of the age to attend both camps (Under the Big Top and Musical Theatre Show-Offs) he/she may bring a sack lunch and spend the day at the theatre. A double camp enrollment discount will be applied. Students may attend both camps for $220. ($260 normally). Staff will be on hand to supervise students who wish to stay through lunch.
