Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts will break tradition this year, rolling out its entire 2010 Filene Center summer season at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in four separate installments, the first one on Monday, October 26. By announcing shows as they are booked throughout the winter and spring months, Wolf Trap patrons, members, and prospective members will have advanced access to their favorite summer performers. Premium in-house seats will be available on October 26 to Wolf Trap members, well in advance of the November 21 general public on-sale.

Performance teasers will be available on Thursday, October 15, drawing attention to an array of legendary artists both new and familiar to Wolf Trap audiences, including the Paul Taylor Dance Company, which will feature a brand new Wolf Trap commissioned dance piece from its iconic choreographer. Dubbed as "one of the most exciting, innovative, and delightful dance companies in the entire world!" by the New York Times, this piece will be presented as part of Taylor's 80th birthday celebration.

Boasting several debut performances in the first installment of the rollout, with many more to come in subsequent announcements, Wolf Trap will present Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats, which holds the record as Broadway's second longest running production at 18 years. Additional shows include Legally Blonde - The Musical, the hit Broadway production that follows Elle Woods and her chihuahua, Bruiser, from her sorority house to the halls of Harvard law school; the international phenomenon Mamma Mia!, and the visually spectacular Cirque Dreams - Illumination.

Wolf Trap caps off the epic Peter Jackson trilogy with the culminating, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King next summer at Wolf Trap. Joined with a live orchestra, chorus, and soloists performing Howard Shore's award-winning score, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King will be displayed on huge HD screens on two different nights. The critically acclaimed film follows Frodo Baggins and his companions as he concludes his quest to destroy the one ring.

The 2010 summer season kicks off with two nights of A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor. The Filene Center also hosts the profoundly accurate and wildly popular RAIN - A Tribute to the Beatles; classical crossover sensations The Irish Tenors; comedic legends The Kingston Trio and The Smothers Brothers; American's band The Beach Boys; The Temptations and The Four Tops; The 21st Annual Louisiana Swamp Romp; and The Ultimate Doo-Wop show featuring a multitude of starring acts.

Continuing with efforts to present accessible and affordable arts experiences to the broadest possible audience, Wolf Trap offers tickets as low as $10, continues to allow patrons to bring their own food and beverages to Park, and provides public transportation and free parking for all shows at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.

Tickets for Wolf Trap's 2010 performances can be purchased via the Wolf Trap Box Office located at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts at 1551 Trap Road, Vienna, Virginia; by calling 1 (877) WOLFTRAP; or online at www.wolftrap.org.
