If you are of a certain age, you will remember Charles Boyer, Ingrid Bergman and Joseph Cotton in the psychological thriller "Gaslight." "Angel Street" is the original play by PatRick Hamilton upon which the film is loosely based. The story centers on a husband (Jack) and wife (Bella) who live on Angel Street in 19th century London when gaslights illuminated homes. The play involves a murder in the past, current unexplained happenings in the home and a letter. Bella begins to doubt herself. Is she losing her mind? Or is her husband, Jack, a suavely sinister man trying to drive her into insanity? The appearance of a police inspector to solve the 15 year old murder adds to the drama.
