Way Off Broadway's Children's Theatre Summer Camp is one of the most popular summer acting programs in the area. This year's camp has not even begun and it has already been sold out for weeks. Because of the massive interest in youth theatre education, and a desire for classes for younger children, WOB is adding a second set of special summer camp sessions to its schedule. These Mini-Day Camps will be held on select weekends for children ages 4 - 12.

These mini-sessions will be a wonderful introduction to theatre for younger ages and additional theatre training for the older students. Classes will focus on theatre techniques and acting through specific acting exercises and theatre training games. Improvisation is a great part of these exercises and encourages students to work creatively, individually, and with others.

Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and students may attend as many classes in their session as they would like. The mini-camps will be taught by Way Off Broadway's Executive Producer, Bill Kiska, and the theatre's Director of Children's Theatre, Susan Thornton.

The addition of these mini-sessions is the latest in the expansion of WOB's education program. Since it first began in the summer of 1996, and because of its popularity, Way Off Broadway's Theatre Ed program expanded to include youth theatre classes during the spring and fall as well, in addition to its summer schedule.
