After the close of The Second City: Charmed & Dangerous, CENERSTAGE's Head Theater will undergo a face lift.

"One of the things I loved when I first came to this theater was the uniqueness and wonderful flexibility of The Head Theater," says Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah. "Since taking over, however, it has come to my attention that The Head Theater receives many complaints from patrons, designers, and directors. Bearing in mind that I share their concerns, we are reconfiguring The Head Theater to a more ‘traditional' space. This, however, is not the destinations-it is a stop on the road to a fully flexible 21st-Century theatrical black box."

With a goal of returning to a space more seriously dedicated to the art, Cabaret tables will be whisked away and more traditional seating will be installed to return the space to a more theatrical venue for the remainder of the 2011-12 Season.

All patrons seats will be in comparable locations to their current seats, and patrons who have already received their tickets for Head Theater shows will not need new tickets. The reconfiguration will also open up the more than 25 additional seats in the space.
