Adeline K. Sutter to Lead Red Branch's DEAR EDWINA; Full Cast Announced

By:

Tickets have now been released for individual sale for Dear Edwina. This charming show-within-a-show chronicles Edwina Spoonapple's quest to woo a talent scout by giving musical advice for the neighborhood from her garage. She counsels her community of Paw Paw, Michigan on everyday etiquette through zany songs and dances produced by the Spoonapple Repertory Theatre. While Dear Edwina, Jr. is a favorite of school Drama Departments, the full version with adult actors is rarely produced. This production marks the area premiere of the fully staged production of this title, which received two Drama Desk Award Nominations for its Off-Broadway run in 2009.

Red Branch Theatre Company Executive Producer and Co-Founder Stephanie Lynn Williams directs this production of Dear Edwina. Ms. Williams was seen on the Red Branch stage earlier this season as Susan in [title of show]. She has directed past Red Branch productions of Next to Normal (for which she was recognized as Best Director in the 2012 Baltimore BroadwayWorld.com area honors) and Once On This Island. Dustin Merrell lends his musical talents to the production staff once more for the upcoming production. He provided music direction for [title of show] and last season's smash hit Avenue Q. Mr. Merrell is a Red Branch Theatre Company Member who was recently recognized as a 2013 Scene Stealer by DC Metro Theater Arts for his work as Larry in [title of show]. Williams and Merrell have assembled a top-rate cast of adults to portray the children in Edwina Spoonapple's universe. Adeline K. Sutter plays the title character. This marks her Red Branch debut, though she is familiar to the organization - having taught several classes for Drama Learning Center over the years and choreographed numerous TYA teen professional productions. Darrius Pugh plays Scott, Edwina's neighbor with a fond attraction to the budding musical advice columnist. He currently serves as a production class music director at Drama Learning Center. DLC alum Meghan Anderson, Red Branch veterans Courtney Branch (Urinetown & Spelling Bee) and Hannah Fogler (Pinocchio stage manager), and Red Branch newcomers Cheryl Campo and Emily Morgan round out the dynamic cast. Rehearsals are currently underway.

Dear Edwina is presented with permission through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. It is the third mainstage production in the 2013 season, entitled "Write On." Red Branch Theatre Company is a professional non-Equity theatre located in Columbia, Maryland. Dedicated to fostering a love of theatre in audiences that is life-long, the company strives to bring together artists and audiences in the Baltimore/Washington community and beyond by providing theatrical work that is exciting, affordable, powerful and thought-provoking.

Individual tickets are now available for purchase online at www.redbranchtheatrecompany.com or by calling the box office at (410) 997-9352.
