The Realistic Joneses open last week, April 6, on Broadway at the Lycuem Theatre. This new American play by Will Eno came to Broadway after a critically-acclaimed run at the Yale Repertory Theatre in 2012. The cast includes Toni Collete, Michael C. Hall, Tracy Letts, and Marisa Tomei.

Today, we're featuring F. Murray Abraham circa 1982. Abraham has focused on stage work throughout his career, giving notable performances as Pozzo in Mike Nichols's production of Waiting for Godot, Malvolio in Twelfth Night for the New York Shakespeare Festival, and Shylock in The Merchant of Venice for the Off Broadway Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA) in March 2007, which was performed at the Duke Theatre in New York and also at The Swan Theatre, part of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He reprised this role in February 2011, when he replaced Al Pacino in the Public Theater's production. In the 1997/98 Broadway season he starred in the new chamber musical Triumph of Love opposite Betty Buckley, based on Marivaux's classic comedy.

Stage and screen star Kevin Spacey was just honored by Museum of the Moving Image at its 28th annual Salute last night, April 9, 2014 in New York City. Spacey joins the ranks of past honorees who have received the Museum's Salute, including Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Robert DeNiro, Goldie Hawn, Alec Baldwin, Dustin Hoffman, Hugh Jackman, Steve Martin, Al Pacino, Sidney Poitier, Jimmy Stewart, Julia Roberts, Martin Scorsese, and Steven Spielberg. Today, we're featuring Ted Wass circa 1981. Wass is best known for his roles as Danny Dallas on the series Soap (1977-1981) and as Nick Russo on the NBC sitcom Blossom (1991-1995). Since Blossom ended its run in 1995, Wass has retired from acting and has focused only on directing episodic television. In 1976, Wass made his Broadway debut in the production Grease playing Danny Zuko.

If/Then opened last week at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway, with Tony winner Idina Menzel leading the cast, which also features Anthony Rapp, LaChanze, James Snyder, Jerry Dixon,Jenn Colella, Jason Tam, Tamika Lawrence, and Jackie Burns. If/Then is a contemporary new musical that follows two distinct storylines in the life of Elizabeth, a city planner who moves back to New York to restart her life in this city of infinite possibilities. When her carefully designed plans collide with the whims of fate, Elizabeth's life splits into two parallel paths. If/Thenfollows both stories simultaneously as this modern woman faces the intersection of choice and chance.

Mickey Rooney, who spent nearly his entire life in the show business, died on Sunday at 93, after being in ill health for quite some time. He appeared on Broadway in Sugar Babies (opposite fellow MGM legend Ann Miller) and The Will Rogers Follies. BroadwayWorld remembers the stage and screen great below.
