According to Deadline, the in-demand actor has officially signed on to star in James Gray's upcoming film adaptation of David Grann's best-selling novel.

Starz in association with Sony Pictures Television has announced today that Graham McTavish (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, '24') will play Dougal MacKenzie and Gary Lewis (Billy Elliot, Gangs of New York) will play Colum MacKenzie in the highly anticipated original series 'Outlander.' The series will be adapted from Diana Gabaldon's international best-selling books, with the first two episodes written by executive producer Ronald D. Moore ('Battlestar Galactica,' 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,' 'Star Trek: The Next Generation') and directed by John Dahl ('Dexter,' 'Breaking Bad,' 'Justified'). 'Outlander,' which is set to premiere on STARZ in 2014, will begin filming in Scotland, where the series is set, this fall.

TNT's gripping, real-life crime series Cold Justice scored more than 2.9 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery Tuesday night, making it one of basic cable's Top 10 unscripted series launches for the year-to-date. The powerful docu-drama, which is executive-produced by Emmy(R) winners Dick Wolf (Law & Order, Chicago Fire), Dan Cutforth & Jane Lipsitz (Chef, Fashion Star) and Tom Thayer (Hitchcock, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee), also drew 942,000 adults 25-54 in Live + Same Day for its premiere episode.

A&E Network has ordered the new real-life series 'Crazy Hearts: Nashville', it was announced today by David McKillop, Executive Vice President and General Manager, A&E Network. The series will follow the lives of aspiring country music artists and insiders as they balance life, love and their pursuit of stardom, one gig at a time. Production begins immediately on eight one-hour episodes set in Nashville, TN.

BOB: Blessed Be The Dysfunction That Binds, a new American play based on the true story of one Rhode Island family's experience with mental illness and the United States healthcare system, will receive its New York premiere at The Abingdon Theatre. Performances begin September 5, 2013.
