It was time for Michael Feinstein's Standard Time in Zankel Hall last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

Jamie deRoy's Friar Membership and her long running Jamie deRoy & friends Variety Show are about the same age.  Jamie became a member in 1988 along with Liza Minnelli, Joan Rivers and Brooke Shields.  Jamie brought this edition of the show to the Friars Club last night and the Frank Sinatra Dining Room was filled with Friars and Jamie's friends as they dined and were entertained by some of the best in the business. 

92Y's Lyrics & Lyricists series presented BABY, DREAM YOUR DREAM: Dorothy Fields AND THE WOMEN OF THE AMERICAN SONGBOOK, last night and BroadwayWorld was there.  The show was hosted by Deborah Grace Winer (Artistic Director, Writer & Host), with John Oddo (Music Director) and Mark Waldrop (Stage Director). Marilyn Maye, Kenita Miller, Nancy Opel, Margo Seibert and Emily Skinner were on vocals.

It doesn't only happen on Late Night TV.  It happens live and in person Sunday nights at The Carlyle's famous Bemelmans Bar.

His tux fits perfectly, sleeves just the right length so you can see the cuff links. Tony Danza is a guy with a personality and musical ability that wins you over from the first note he sings.  Then he tells his stories and his jokes, which make you feel you would like to spend a week with him.  That's a Tony Danza cabaret show, or to use a more authentic word, 'night club act'.  

The New York Choral Society (NYCHORAL)  hosted its Spring Gala last night at the Metropolitan Club in New York City and BroadwayWorld was there. 

Carmen Cusack's "Bright Star" never faded and was a gift from the heavens last night as she performed her cabaret act at Feinstein's/54 Below and BroadwayWorld was there.

Broadway sang at The Players Club last night for the Benefit of The Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center and BroadwayWorld was there.

Maestro Steven Reineke lifted his baton, pointed to a first tier box and started the New York Pops playing probably the most well known song ever written as he led the audience in Happy Birthday to soon to be 90 year old John Kander.  BroadwayWorld was there for the opening night exciting concert which celebrated the music of the award winning song writers, the legendary Kander & Ebb.  Cassie Levy and Tony Yazbeck, the triple threat singer, actor, dancers were the concerts guest artists. Probably not since Vladimir Horowitz had a nail tapped into Carnegie's stage for his piano placement has there been better tapping (dancing) than Mr. Yazbeck displayed at this concert.  As in every New York Pops Concert, the joy of the music continues as Steven Reineke hosts an after party.

On March 10, 2017 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, will continue its 34th season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, by bringing to life the iconic partnership of Fred Ebb and John Kander, who celebrates his 90th birthday this year. BroadwayWorld world was there for the rehearsal.

The sign at The Colony Hotel for Steve Tyrell's engagement says "Back By Popular Demand" and no truer words are spoken about one of the most beloved performers of American Popular Music. 

Smokey Robinson brought the sounds of Motown to the Kravis Center in Palm Beach last night and there wasn't one woman in the audience that didn't became his girl after he sang 'My GIrl', The Temtations signature tune which Smokey and Ronald White wrote and produced in 1964. Smokey Robinson wrote Motown's first song to reach No. 1 on the Billboard R&B chart, Shop Around, for The Miracles, a group he formed while still in high school. The Detroit native would go on to write many Miracles hits, including The Tracks of My Tears, I Second That Emotion and Tears of a Clown (with Stevie Wonder), plus songs for other Motown legends. Fifty years later, his high tenor voice remains a national treasure. The spectacular evening was sponsored by Sunny Sessa in loving memory memory of Leonardo Sessa, and Smokey's performance will surely be a loving memory for all who filled the Kravis Center to hear his great music.

Lucie and Desi both brought the Boca Raton audience to it's feet last night as Lucie Arnaz brought the music and story of her parents, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz to the stage of producer Jan McCart's Live at Lynn series at Lynn University.  

Broadway mainstay Christine Andreas showcased her impeccable vocal abilities in her new show Cabaret show at The Colony in Palm Beach last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

The Colony in Palm Beach and The Carlyle in Manhattan are the two finest venues in the nation and probably the world created to present the art of cabaret  Both Cafe Carlyle and The Royal Room have had the honor of engaging the premier cabaret artists of our generation to their audiences. 

Dick Robinson the founder of the Society For The Preservation Of The Great American Songbook presented Steve Lawrence the organization's prestigious award after a breathtaking concert by Mr. Lawrence at the Kravis Center in Palm Beach Florida.

Broadway luminaries Lisa Howard, John Boswell, Scott Coulter and Jason Graae defied   the gravity of Broadway and brought the music of Stephen Schwartz down to Old School Square Crest Theatre in Delray last night and BroadwayWorld was in sunny Florida for their show.  

There are many great notes that come from the vocal chords of Nicolas King and the fingers of Mike Renzi. They all came together in a blockbuster concert at the Arts Garage in Delray Beach Florida last night and BroadwayWorld was there.
