POLKADOTS: The Cool Kids Musical, a new musical celebrating the diversity among children, will have a private industry reading today, August 28th, in New York City. Creator Douglas Lyons (Five Points: An American Musical) is the show's lyricist and co-composed the score alongside Greg Borowsky (Sony ATV). The book is by Melvin Tunstall III.

On August 28th the completely original new show Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical will get it's first private industry readings in NYC. The all-star cast features Gerard Canonico (Spring Awakening) as Sky Square, Brittney Johnson (Beautiful) as Lily Polkadot, Talia Thiesfield (HBO's Veep) as Penelope Square and Russell Arden Koplin (Les Miserables) as Mrs. Square/Mama Square.
THE REPORT is set to begin performances this Saturday, August 15th at the New York International Fringe Festival. Based on the novel by Jessica Francis Kane, THE REPORT is adapted by Martin Casella, author of THE IRISH CURSE which earned the Outstanding Playwriting Award in the 2005 FringeNYC and went on to a highly acclaimed Off-Broadway run. The director is Alan Muraoka, whose credits include FALSETTOLAND (NAATCO), KARAOKE STORIES and 'Sesame Street.'

A jazz music festival is turning heads in Mexico and it's called 'The New Standards'. The festival is a music project by Mexican musical theatre director, composer and arranger Jaime Lozano (The Yellow Brick Road Off Boradway) and his life partner Florencia Cuenca. They have put their great passions together: jazz and musical theatre.
