The new musical Kinky Boots, from four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), will begin preview performances on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with an official opening night set for Thursday, April 4, 2013. New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo presents A Civil War Christmas, written by Paula Vogel and directed by Tina Landau. Performances of this holiday-themed work began Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 7pm at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. On Thursday, December 13, the upcoming musical stage adaptation of Richard Matheson's acclaimed novel and Universal Pictures film SOMEWHERE IN TIME will be presented at a private industry reading in midtown Manhattan.

Currently playing at London's Cambridge Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Matilda the Musical is Broadway-bound in 2013. MATILDA THE MUSICAL begins performances on March 4 and opens on April 11 2013 at the Shubert Theatre (235 West 44th Street). It concerns the reactions of three couples each expecting a child. Lizzie and Danny are university juniors who have just moved in together. Athletic Pam and her husband, Nick, a sports instructor, have had some trouble conceiving. Arlene, already the mother of three grown daughters, is unsure of what to do, contemplating abortion while her husband Alan is thrilled with the thought of a new baby. Throughout the show, these characters experience the emotional stresses and triumphs, the desperate lows and the comic highs, that accompany the anticipation and arrival of a baby.

Troika Entertainment has just announced the cast for the first national tour of the international hit, Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical. Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical launches its national tour on January 8 in Minneapolis, MN at the Orpheum Theatre.

According to TVLand.com, stage and screen star Denis O'Hare will return to 'Law & Order,' this time in SVU as 'Father Shea.' O'Hare previously played the role in 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent,' in 2008. The episode will air in January.

An all new Christmas CD Recording titled A VERY BROADWAY CHRISTMAS will feature a host of Broadway Stars to support the Dr. Carol Channing-Harry Kullijian Foundation For The Arts in its mission to promote the arts in public education. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this CD will go directly to support schools in Union Beach, New Jersey who lost all of their musical instruments after Hurricane Sandy and have been forced to cancel their music classes and programs indefinitely.
