According to the Los Angeles Times, Eliza Doolittle might be heading back to Broadway in the near future, as music industry legend Clive Davis has just announced plans to produce My Fair Lady in 2014. He told LAT: 'I always wanted to produce a Broadway show, and I've never done it. I'm hopeful we will prepare and finalize everything this year to bring 'My Fair Lady' next year to Broadway with a stellar cast.'

Matthew Stocke returns to the cast of the five-time Tony nominated hit musical ROCK OF AGES tonight, February 7, 2013, at the Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street) for four weeks. Stocke is stepping in for Paul Schoeffler as 'Hertz,' the German developer looking to renovate the Sunset Strip, while Schoeffler is on leave to play Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha at Houston's Theatre Under The Stars from February 26-March 10. Schoeffler returns to ROCK OF AGES on March 11, 2013.

With a book, music, and lyrics by Frank Loesser, the story isabout a romance between an older man and younger woman, is based on the play They Knew What They Wanted by Sidney Howard. The original Broadway production opened in 1956 and ran for 14 months. A 1992 revival, directed by Gerald Guttierrez, featured Spiro Malas as Tony, Sophie Hayden as Rosabella, Charles Pistone as Joe, Claudia Catania as Marie, Liz Larsen as Cleo, and Scott Waara as Herman.

Today in 1984, The Rink opend at the Martin Beck Theatre (now the Al Hirschfeld Theatre), where it ran for 204 performances. With a book by Terrence McNally, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and music by John Kander, the musical focuses on Anna, the owner of a dilapidated roller skating rink on the boardwalk of a decaying seaside resort, who has decided to sell it to developers. Complicating her plans are her prodigal daughter Angel, who returns to town seeking to reconnect with the people and places she long ago left behind. Through a series of flashbacks, revelations, and minimal forward-moving plot development, the two deal with their pasts in their attempt to reconcile and move on with their lives.

On Broadway Scott has starred as Christine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, garnering nominations for a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award; Amneris in Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida (2000), for which she won the Clarence Derwent Award and was a Drama League Honoree; Sally in Tommy (1993); Marty in Grease (1995-96); Maureen in Rent (1997); and originated the role of Ursula in The Little Mermaid (2007). In 2010 Scott starred in the critically acclaimed production Everyday Rapture, which Scott wrote with co-author Dick Scanlan. She most recently starred as Pepa in the musical adaptation of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

As BroadwayWorld previously announced, country music icon Carrie Underwood is slated to portray the role of Maria von Trapp in NBC's upcoming live holiday broadcast of The Sound of Music in 2013. According to the Wall Street Journal, original Maria, Julie Andrews fully supports the remake of the classic film.

Two-time Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks will soon make his Broadway debut in Lucky Guy, the final work by three-time Academy Award-nominee Nora Ephron and directed by two-time Tony Award-winner George C. Wolfe. According to Bloomberg, the movie star could rake in up to $150,000 a week for his role. Hanks will bring in 12.5 percent of the weekly box office earnings, with a $75,000 minimum. Additionally, if the show extends and another actor replaces Hanks, he will still earn 2 percent of ticket sales.

The U.S. premiere of "Backbeat" just opened at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre. The dramatic new play with music about the birth of one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands in history, the Beatles, continues through March 1, 2013. (Preview performances began on January 20.). Proof, the 2001 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play by American playwright David Auburn will be presented for 8 performances only at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street - between Lafayette & Bowery). Produced by an ensemble of independent New York actors and artists, performances will begin on Thursday, February 21st and continue through Sunday, March 3rd.

Signature Theatre presents The Dance and the Railroad written by David Henry Hwang and directed by May Adrales. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. The production runs through March 17, 2013 with a February 25 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).
