Last night was the two-hour premiere of Season 2 of NBC's Golden Globe-nominated musical drama series SMASH, and according to Deadline.com the ratings took a major dip. Compared to the Season 1 premiere, the show's viewers were down 71%, and 39% from the season 1 finale. 4.47 million viewers tuned in last night, compared to the Season 1 premiere turnout of 11.4 million viewers.

Live From Lincoln Center presents 'Kristin Chenoweth: The Dames of Broadway…All of 'Em!!!', a specially conceived concert for Lincoln Center's 2013 American Songbook series, which salutes the great roles for leading ladies and the sidekick scene stealers from an array of Broadway composers and lyricists, creating a performance that promises to be at once intimate and filled with her trademark 'razzle dazzle.' Today in 1975, Private Lives opened at the 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rogers Theatre), where it ran for 92 performances. Private Lives is a 1930 comedy of manners in three acts by Noel Coward. It focuses on a divorced couple who discover that they are honeymooning with their new spouses in neighbouring rooms at the same hotel. Despite a perpetually stormy relationship, they realise that they still have feelings for each other. Its second act love scene was nearly censored in Britain as too risque. Coward wrote one of his most popular songs, 'Some Day I'll Find You', for the play.

Directed by two-time Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun, a portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to The Performing Arts Project.

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts just announced the stellar lineup for the 2013-2014 Broadway Las Vegas series running August 2013 to July 2014. The upcoming season, sponsored by Southern Nevada Ford Stores, brings many of Broadway's most beloved and famed musicals and plays to Las Vegas for the first time.

Garrett Lewis, four time Academy Award nominated set decorator, dancer and actor, died Tuesday, January 29 at the age of 77. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1935 and died at his home in Woodland Hills, California of natural causes.

Today, the Nederlander Organization and Estefan Enterprises jointly announce they have engaged in the process of developing and producing a new Broadway show inspired by the music made famous by International superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband musician/producer and entrepreneur Emilio Estefan. The musical will be set in a way that tells the Estefans' riveting life story detailing their journey all the way from Cuba to superstardom. Additional elements will be announced and worked through with a creative team that will be assigned at a later date. Check out highlights of the duo in action below!

Russell Grant finds himself sharing the dance floor with his favourite partner, Flavia Cacace, along with Vincent Simone, in the West End run of Olivier Award-nominated Midnight Tango, which runs for a strictly limited season at The Phoenix Theatre through 2 March 2013. But according to a recent staement released by a show respresentative, Grant will not be able to partake in opening night.
