Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

The national tour of Green Day's 'American Idiot' just opened in Los Angeles on March 14 at the Ahmanson Theatre. Original Broadway cast member Van Hughes stars as Johnny, a role in which he concluded the 'American Idiot' Broadway run, along with original Broadway cast member Joshua Kobak as St. Jimmy, Jake Epstein as Will, Scott J. Campbell as Tunny, original Broadway cast member Leslie McDonel as Heather, Gabrielle McClinton as Whatsername and Nicci Claspell as The Extraordinary Girl. The national tour of American Idiot celebrated its 100th performance on Friday, March 23 and you can check out photos from the festivities below!

The cast of the American premiere of the Royal Court Theatre's Olivier Award-winning new production, COCK will star Jason Butler Harner as M, Amanda Quaid as W, Cory Michael Smith as John and Cotter Smith as F. Written by Mike Bartlett and directed by James Macdonald, COCK will open Off-Broadway at The Duke on 42nd Street, a NEW 42nd STREET project, 229 West 42nd Street, on Thursday, May 17 and previews will begin Thursday, May 1.

After years of development, Clyde 'n Bonnie: A Folktale premiered in suburban Atlanta at Aurora Theatre on March 15. Aurora Theatre first encountered the show in 2009 at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, the annual showcase of potential Broadway hits, like the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning Next to Normal. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will present the 26th Annual EASTER BONNET COMPETITION on Monday, April 23 (4:30 PM) and Tuesday, April 24 (2 PM) at the Minskoff Theatre (200 West 45th Street, NYC), home to the long-running musical hit Disney's The Lion King. Newsies, the new American musical, is currently in previews at the Nederlander Theatre (208 W 41st St) for a strictly limited 101 performance run following its critically-hailed stint at Paper Mill Playhouse last fall. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the cast recorded the original Broadway cast recording earlier this month, and the album is currently available for pre-order on iTunes (release date 4/10) and in hardcopy form (release date 5/15). Today in 1997, Annie opened at the Martin Beck Theatre (now the Al Hirschfeld Theatre), where it ran for 239 performances. Annie is a Broadway musical based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and the book by Thomas Meehan. The original Broadway production opened in 1977 and ran for nearly six years, setting a record for the Alvin Theatre (now the Neil Simon Theatre). It spawned numerous productions in many countries, as well as national tours, and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical's songs 'Tomorrow' and 'It's the Hard-Knock Life' are among its most popular musical numbers.

'Our job as a theater is to create that contract anew with every performance, and then to fulfill it. We did not do that with THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY OF STEVE JOBS. We would not have called it nonfiction had we known that incidents described in the piece were fabricated. We didn't know, and the result was that our audience was misled. The piece had a powerful, positive impact on the world, and we are proud of that. But that doesn't relieve us of the responsibility of honoring our contract with our audience.

Following a highly successfully L.A. premiere this past February 2011, ROCK OF AGES, the five-time Tony Award nominated smash-hit musical, returns to Los Angeles for a strictly limited, face-melting one week engagement now through March 25, 2012 at the Pantages Theatre. L.A. audiences were so amped during the show's premiere engagement that it was clear those die-hard fans who continued singing 'Don't Stop Believin' down Hollywood Boulevard as they left the Pantages Theatre hadn't been rocked hard enough!

Entertainment industry charity 'The Make A Difference Trust' held an event at The Edge In London's Soho Square, sponsored by ‘I Am SOHO' and hosted by Heart FM's Toby Anstis, to launch their much anticipated show, ‘West End Eurovision 2012'. West End Eurovision, now in its 5th year, sees 12 West End casts, including such shows as Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, War Horse and Les Miserables, produce fully costumed, choreographed versions of a past Eurovision Song Contest entry. This iconic show was nominated in the top 5 'Theatrical Events of the year 2011' category in the recent BroadwayWorld.com Awards.
