From August 19-28, the Independent Drama Society begins its 2010-2011 season, a season of love and loathing, with PROOF, David Auburn's compelling theatrical examination of genius, family, and frailty.

At the the 'Child's Play' Fundraiser, local celebrities, characters and entertainers will read or perform their favorite children's books and songs to an all adult audience. The evening is sure to allow the mischievous side to enjoy some of the most playful literature ever conceived without the judging eyes of children. The Museum of Modern Art presents 'Small Scale, Big Change: New Architectures of Social Engagement', from October 3, 2010, through January 3, 2011. The exhibition explores contemporary architecture as a powerful means for improving social conditions, focusing on 11 noteworthy built or under-construction projects in underserved communities around the world. The exhibit will be located in the Special Exhibitions Gallery on the third floor.

The New York Philharmonic, led by Music Director Alan Gilbert, will perform the New York Premiere of the groundbreaking, theatrical Kraft, by Magnus Lindberg, the Orchestra's Marie-Josée Kravis Composer-in-Residence, Thursday, October 7, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, October 8, at 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, October 12, at 7:30 p.m. The program will also include Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and Sibelius's Violin Concerto, with Joshua Bell as soloist.

Georgia Shakespeare announces open auditions for the lead role of 'Ralphie' in the live stage production of A CHRISTMAS STORY to run Dec 7-26, 2010, at Georgia Shakespeare on the campus of Oglethorpe University. Four open auditions will be held at various locations around Atlanta in the coming weeks. For the role of Ralphie, Georgia Shakespeare is looking for boys who look between the ages of 10 and 12, but are not over the age of 13.
