NBC News has created a new Climate Unit dedicated to covering the most important issues affecting the environment globally. As part of the Climate Unit's debut, NBC News, MSNBC, Telemundo and NBC News Digital will kick off “Climate in Crisis,” a week-long series focused on climate issues, beginning Sunday, September 15.

USA Network announced today that Amanda Peet (“The Romanoffs”) and Christian Slater (MR. ROBOT) will star in the second season of anthology series DIRTY JOHN, titled DIRTY JOHN: THE BETTY BRODERICK STORY. This second installment will be based on another epic true tale of love gone wrong -- a story that spans the 1960s to the '80s, through the breakdown of a marriage that Oprah deemed one of “America's messiest divorces” even before it ended in double homicide.

Amid a galaxy of country music stars gathered in downtown Nashville for its annual awards shows, industry VIPs will celebrate one of the brightest when Country Music Hall of Fame member Randy Travis receives the prestigious ASCAP Founders Award at the 57th annual American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Country Music Awards. The exclusive, invitation-only gala, which celebrates the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's most-performed country songs of 2018, takes place on Monday, November 11 and will include special guest performances to honor Travis.

The 4th annual Suwannee Roots Revival will kick off on Thursday, October 10 at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Florida with Brett Bass & Melted Plectrum setting the tone for the weekend on the Amphitheater Stage at 3pm. Followed by female roots rocker Lindsay Lou, the dynamic presence of The Lil Smokies, chart topping and energetic Celtic bluegrass sensations We Banjo 3, and to close it all out, a nice long set from blues rocker Samantha Fish, fresh off the cover of the Rolling Stone! With opening sets from Sloppy Joe, Quartermoon, and Nikki Talley & Jason Sharp on the Porch Stage, the music will flow. The rocking Dance Tent will start the weekend with amazing sets from stellar festival family national touring artists Nicholas Edward Williams, Joe Craven & The Sometimers, The Grass Is Dead, and Jon Stickley Trio, as well as host the first of several daily contra/square dance sets from The Dunehoppers with caller Andy Kane.

Netflix will debut a feature-length concert special from Ben Platt, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The special will be filmed live from Platt's final stop on tour, his sold-out show at Radio City Music Hall on September 29.

On Tuesday, September 10, Live with Kelly and Ryan hopes to dance its way into history by scoring the record title for most ballet dancers en pointe simultaneously.

The Allman Family Revival will be returning for its third year in celebration of Gregg Allman's birthday, This year the show is expanding to 3 nation-wide performances. San Francisco at The Fillmore, Denver at the brand-new Mission Ballroom and NYC at The Beacon.

BET Networks, a unit of  Viacom Inc. (NASDAQ: VIA, VIAB), and Tyler Perry Studios today announced that, BET+, their joint venture and premier subscription video-on demand service, will launch in the U.S. on Thursday, September 19.  For $9.99 per month, BET+ will feature more than 1,000 hours of premium content, including exclusive new original programming and fan-favorite series, movies, and specials from BET Networks, as well as a host of leading African American content creators, including Tyler Perry, Tracy Oliver, Will Packer and more.

Golden Globe® Award-winning actress Katey Sagal is returning to ABC's hit comedy series “The Conners” for a 10-episode arc in which she will star as Louise, an ex-rock drummer who now manages Casita Bonita. Louise went to high school with Dan Conner (John Goodman) and is catching up on lost time with him while in Lanford, Illinois. She will first appear in episode 203.    

CBS announced today the 20 castaways who will compete against each other on SURVIVOR when the Emmy Award-winning series returns for its 39th season with a special 90-minute premiere, Wednesday, Sept. 25 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Acclaimed American rock band Blackberry Smoke will release their new project Homecoming: Live In Atlanta—a new live album and concert film—on November 15. Recorded at their annual “Brothers and Sisters Holiday Homecoming” show at Atlanta's Tabernacle last November, both the album and film, which was directed by Lagan Sebert and Ted Roach, are now available for pre-order. Psychological illusionist Derren Brown, who is currently on Broadway in his show Derren Brown: Secret, stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on a special post-NFL Sunday night episode. Brown shows how he reads minds and influences people by playing a magical version of Guess Who? with host Jimmy Fallon and Questlove.

Tony Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Denis O'Hare will star in Eric Rosen's film NETUSER, about Peter Sardovski, an activist whose life unravels when a nightmare about political violence turns true. Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award nominee Claybourne Elder plays his husband who struggles to prevent Peter's compulsion from endangering their young son. Two time Tony Award nominee Johanna Day will play his sister-in-law, a NYPD detective who struggles to shield her brother's family from danger.  The film also features Tatiana Wechsler as Peter's editor Jenny.
