Javier Bardem to Play 'Sylvester's' Ex on GLEE Next SeasonAugust 29, 2010Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Javier Bardem may be the latest star to make a guest appearance on GLEE. According to a report in the Ausiello Files, Bardem will play a Spanish rock star who befriends 'Artie' (played by Kevin McHale). Bardem allegedly pitched the idea to GLEE creator Ryan Murphy while the two were in production for Eat, Pray, Love.

Bradley Dean to Replace Aaron Lazar in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC; Jessica Grove to Join Cast 8/31August 26, 2010BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Bradley Dean (Spamalot, Company, The Story of My Life, Man of La Mancha) will replace Aaron Lazar as Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC on August 31, 2010. Dean has understudied Lazar throughout the production in addition to playing the role of servant Frid. Lazar will play his last performance on August 29. Stephen R. Buntrock, who has played Mr. Lindquist since the show's opening will step into the role of Frid, while Ben Davis will join the company as the new Mr. Lindquist.
Foster & Swenson Lead BONNIE & CLYDE Readings at Snapple Center, 9/10August 26, 2010Above the Title Entertainment (Jed Bernstein) will present two special readings of the new musical, Bonnie & Clyde: A Folktale, on Friday, September 10 at the Snapple Theatre Center (1627 Broadway). Bonnie & Clyde: A Folktale features a book by Hunter Foster and music & lyrics by Rick Crom. Under the direction of Lonny Price, the cast will feature Sutton Foster as ‘Bonnie' and Will Swenson as ‘Clyde,' along with Marc Kudisch, Beth Leavel and more. These readings are by invitation only.
PHANTOM 3rd National Tour to Close at Pantages, 10/31August 26, 2010Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Theatre Company, Inc. announced today that the third national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, known as the Music Box Company, will play its final performance on Halloween, October 31, 2010, at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Tickets for the final two weeks of the tour, which was recently extended by popular demand, go on sale to the general public this Sunday, August 29. The Music Box Company is currently playing a four-week run at the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh through September 19 and will begin performances in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 23.

Following two critically acclaimed years, The Bridge Project will again be directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes with whom Spacey worked on the film American Beauty, for which they both won BAFTA and Academy Awards. The Bridge Project is a unique three-year series of co-productions by BAM, The Old Vic, and Neal Street, devoted to producing large-scale, classical theater for international audiences.
