59E59 Theaters hosts the new York City premiere of GOOD BOBBY tonight, October 14.  The production has been in previews since October 8.  GOOD BOBBY is written by Brian Lee Franklin and directed by Pierson Blaetz and will play a limited engagement through Sunday, November 8.  The show is produced by Greenway Arts Alliance (Los Angeles) and Danny Fresh.

GOOD BOBBY recounts the formative adult years of Robert F. Kennedy, one of history's great "what ifs." From his battles with Jimmy Hoffa on the Labor Rackets Committee to his stint as Attorney General to the assassination of his brother President John Kennedy, RFK struggles to find his own voice and step out of the enormous shadows created by a domineering father, a larger-than-life brother and the expectations of a mother who forever believes in the man he ultimately becomes.

The cast of GOOD BOBBY includes Sile Bermingham, Brian Lee Franklin, Joe Hindy, William Mahoney, Paul Marius, Steve Mendillo, Barry Primus and Lisa Richards.

Brian Lee Franklin (playwright/actor) hails from Chandler Mountain, Alabama, the son of sharecropping tomato farmers. After attending Florida State University and earning his degree in Psychology, Brian moved to New York and was quickly cast in the CBS miniseries Sally Hemings: An American Scandal, opposite Sam Neill. Brian then made the decision to focus on his true passion, the theater and spent the next five years on the New York, regional, and Los Angeles stages writing, acting, and directing. During this time, Brian also formed the Bulldog Theater Company, frequently performing at the late Sidney Armus' Theater 22 in New York. In the summer of 2007, Brian wrote, starred in, directed, and edited the acclaimed short film Remembered. Brian is a lifetime member of the famed Actors Studio as both an actor and a playwright.

Pierson Blaetz (Director) is co-artistic director and a founding member of Greenway Arts Alliance. He has been a founding member of three other theater projects, The Men's Project in New York City, Hard City Theatre in Dallas and the Asylum Theatre Company in Los Angeles. Pierson has produced, acted and directed in over 40 productions. His co-producing awards include the 2001 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, an LA Weekly Award and Back Stage West's Garland Award for Best Production, They Shoot Horses Don't They? He won a Drama-Logue Award for Best Actor in Beggars in the House of Plenty at The Theatre at the Improv. Pierson is also Co-Producer of Da' Poetry Lounge, a collection of works by spoken word artists.

The performance schedule is Tuesday at 7:15; Wednesday - Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM and 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM.
