Rylance Brings JERUSALEM to Broadway; Previews Begin April 2 at the Music Box TheatreDecember 20, 2010Tony and Olivier Award winning star Mark Rylance (La Bête, Boeing-Boeing) will recreate his wildly acclaimed, multi award-winning performance as Johnny ‘Rooster' Byron on Broadway in the Royal Court Theatre production of Jez Butterworth's universally heralded new play, JERUSALEM. The production, directed by Ian Rickson, will also star Mackenzie Crook (The Seagull, 'The Office') as Ginger and most of the original Royal Court cast, with full casting to be announced at a later date. JERUSALEM will open on Broadway on April 21, 2011 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Previews will begin on April 2, 2011. The production will play a limited 16-week engagement.

Taymor on SPIDER-MAN Delay: 'It Takes Time'December 17, 2010As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off The Dark has once again delayed it's opening to 'sometime in February,' the New York Times reported, pushed back from January 11, 2011. SPIDEY creator Julie Taymor spoke with Showbiz411.com yesterday and revealed that she is 'happy' about the delay so that she has time to incorporate changes and fine tune some loose edges. Losing star Natalie Mendoza to a concussion for 17 days hurt the show's progress, as did the implementation of a new closing number. The 'work in progress' that is currently playing the Foxwoods Theatre continues to perform at the box office in the meantime.
