It was announced today that JERSEY BOYS - The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons - has smashed the all-time box office record for a second week of trading by taking in excess of $NZ1.9 million gross, beating previous records by over $NZ500,000. This phenomenal demonstration of support by New Zealanders for this internationally acclaimed musical falls at the same time that JERSEY BOYS notches up its 1,000th performance in Australasia on Thursday 26 April.

Life is imitating art for leading man Raza Jaffrey, as CHICAGO producer, Barry Weissler spotted him in the new Steven Spielberg TV series Smash, and immediately offered him the role of Billy Flynn in the West End production of the musical. He will star in CHICAGO at the Garrick Theatre from 16 May to 14 July, playing the role between present Billy, David Bedella, who leaves the cast on 12 May, and Olympian Robin Cousins, who joins on 17 July.

The Lyceum Theatre Company, Scotland's largest producing theatre, has announced its 2012/2013 Season. Collaborations National Theatre of Scotland, Citizens Theatre, Dundee Rep Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre as well as in-house productions will present more than seventy actors in seven plays, three of which are world premieres. Highlights of the season include THE GUID SISTERS, trasnlated into Scots from the original French, TAKING OVER THE ASYLUM by Donna Franceschild and a new commission from David Haig which has yet to be titled.
