The BASCA Fellowship is the highest accolade which a composer can receive, bestowed by composers in the UK. It recognises unique creative talent in music writing together with iconic achievement for and on behalf of composers. BASCA Fellows are exceptional artists and ambassadors for the song-writing and composing profession and BASCA's role within it.

Hot off his forty-city book tour promoting his book Blackouts and Breakdowns, Mark Brennan Rosenberg is bringing his musical book reading series "How to Date A F+++ing Loser" which enjoyed three sold-out performances last fall, back for a one-night only event benefiting the Forty-Sixth Street Clubhouse, an organization that helps the LGBT community deal with problems related to alcoholism. The event will take place on Saturday June 23 at 9:30 at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre located at 61 Christopher Street in New York.

Twelve year old Harrison Dowzell from Nottinghamshire is to become the thirtieth boy to play the title role of Billy Elliot in the West End. Harrison, who joins the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical today, 14 May 2012, will alternate the role of Billy with Harris Beattie (13 year old from Aberdeen, Scotland), Kaine Ward (13 years old from Hertfordshire), Ryan Collinson (13 years old from Southport) and Adam Vesperman (13 years old from Seattle, Washington, USA) He will be the 65th boy to play the role worldwide, including Jamie Bell who played Billy Elliot in the award-winning film.

Invisible Dog presents Prune Nourry's HOLY RIVER from today, Saturday, May 12, with an opening reception from 6-10 pm. Prune has been an artist-in-residence at the Invisible Dog for the last year, and this exhibition is part of larger body of work first exhibited in India and Paris and bound for Switzerland next year.

Written and directed by the award-winning Laurie Collyer (SHERRYBABY) and starring Naomi Watts (J. EDGAR, KING KONG), Matt Dillon (CRASH, THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY) and Norman Reedus (THE BOONDOCK SAINTS, THE WALKING DEAD). The film is produced by Original Media's Charlie Corwin (HALF NELSON, THE SQUID AND THE WHALE), Freight Yard Films' Andrea Roa and Ariel Elia, who is producing on behalf of Empyrean Pictures. Joshua Skurla and Dan Klabin are executive producers for Empyrean, which fully financed the film, and are joined by Simon Fawcett (HOW TO LOSE FRIENDS & ALIENATE PEOPLE, IN THE LOOP) as executive producer.

Daniel Evans today announces the world premiere of a new stage play version of The Full Monty which Oscar-winning writer Simon Beaufoy, who wrote the screenplay, has adapted for the stage using songs from the film. This announcement realises a long held ambition for Evans who on his appointment as Artistic Director wanted to bring The Full Monty home to Sheffield. The production will be presented at the Lyceum Theatre in Sheffield from Friday 1 - Saturday 23 February 2013.
