Adam Welsh is set to direct an urban adaptation of ROMEO AND JULIET at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London beginning July 14. The production will star Esther Smith and Kyle McPhail as Juliet and Romeo respectivly. Providing new original music will be Neil Layton with musical supervision by Michael Kantola.

Manhattan Theatre Club's production of THAT FACE by Polly Stenham, directed by Sarah Benson (Blasted, Artistic Director of Soho Rep), will begin its final week of performances, tomorrow, Tuesday, June 22 at 7 PM at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).The production will play the final performance of its limited engagement on Sunday, June 27 after playing 48 regular performances and 21 previews.

BURN_THE_FLOOR_20010101 Five finalists from 'So You Think You Can Dance' will join the U.S. tour of BURN THE FLOOR. Janette Manrara, Ashleigh Di Lello, Karen Hauer, Ryan Di Lello and RObie Kmetoni will join the tour beginning in Portland, OR on September 7. Hauer and Kmetoni are signed on for the entire tour, the Di Lellos are scheduled through January 2011. Manrara is scheduled through November 2010.

Paul Lucas Productions and Richard Jordan Productions today announced a special one-week limited engagement of Pop-Punk/Electro-Clash and Comedy sensation Die Roten Punkte, the international award-winning hit of the Edinburgh, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto and Spoleto Festivals. Performances of the group's hugely-successful Robot/Lion Tour 2010 will run at Barrow Street Theatre, New York from June 23 through June 28, with performances Wednesday to Saturday at 10pm and Monday June 28 at 8pm (no performance Sunday).

As reported by the Daily News the Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is 'cracking down' on scalpers selling the free tickets to Shakespeare in the Park this summer. All tickets to the Shakespeare In the Park productions are free, tickets are distributed on a first-come first-served basis usually beginnning in the early afternoon. Last summer patrons were linned up as early as 4am to secure their spot in line for the free tickets.

Playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah Pens Laurie Cunningham Biopic

According to Deadline.com Award winning playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah is working on a script for a biopic about 1970s soccer star Laurie Cunningham. The film is entitled 'Black Flash.' Cunningham was the first English player to join Real Madrid, the most successful soccer team from Spain. Cunningham was also the first black player to represent England at any level (under 21), and the first to represent the full England side in a competitive match, although Viv Anderson had appeared in a friendly before him to be recognised as the nation's first black full international.
