Tony Award-winning actress, singer, and songwriter Idina Menzel, star of Broadway's Wicked and the original stage production of Rent, will open the 2011-12 Knight Masterworks Season Pops Series at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on December 3, 2011 at 8 p.m. in the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall.

Starring Florida Rep regular, Jason Parrish, The Santaland Diaries follows the exploits of an unemployed writer who desperately takes a job as a Macy's Elf, and manages to expose the underside of Santa's workshop.

Florida Repertory Theatre celebrates the holidays with It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, an inventive adaptation of the Frank Capra classic. Brought to life as a 1946 live radio broadcast, the action begins thirty minutes prior to curtain time with an elaborate pre-show presentation that transforms the Arcade into a vintage, New York City radio studio on Christmas eve.

New Theatre (THE NEW) continues it's season with the World Premiere of Twain and Shaw Do Lunch, by Chambers Stevens, running December 2 - 18, 2011, in its new intimate home at The Roxy Performing Art Center. In 1907 the world's two greatest living writers had lunch together. This, their first meeting, was monumental. It would be Mrs. Shaw's job to make sure they didn't destroy each other. This witty and based on truth play has won several awards such as the Best Comedy at the Palm Beach Int'l Playwrighting Competition, and the Long Beach Playhouse New Play Award.

The Main Street Players announced the world premiere of For the Love of Money, a one-man show by Daniel Nieves, showing December 2, 3, and 4 at the Main Street Playhouse in Miami Lakes. For the Love of Money follows the rise of Charles 'Lucky' Luciano, one of America's most infamous crime bosses, from his childhood in the hills of Sicily, through his rise to become one of the most powerful organized crime lords in the world, and ending in his imprisonment and eventual exile.

HAIR won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival as well as the Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical. HAIR was also nominated for an additional seven Tony Awards including Best Direction, Best Choreography, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design. The cast recording was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

"A NOT SO SILENT NIGHT" premiered as a holiday cabaret in 2010, recently released on CD and digital download, and will be performed live again this year. The 60-minute show features original music and traditional carols that are reinvigorated through Becca and James' attention to musical and theatrical detail. James' lush arrangements and dense style and Becca's rich mezzo and expressive vocal treatment of the classic carols of the Nativity will allow you to experience the songs as if for the first time.

New American Theater brings you The SantaLand Diaries, written by David Sedaris, one of NPR and late night TV's favorite satirists. The show is based on the outlandish, and true, chronicles of Sedaris' experience as Crumpet the Elf in Macy's SantaLand display. This funny cult classic features comic encounters during the height of the holiday crunch.

Conundrum Stages presents its second annual Holiday party on Tuesday, December 13th. It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is an inventive retelling of the timeless story, and a perfect blend of Christmas cheer and theatrical magic. Audiences will be immersed in the nostalgic charm of the 1940's from the minute they enter the theatre - with ushers in red uniforms, live Foley sound effects and real vintage commercials. The Arcade Theatre will be transformed into a New York City radio studio, and the magic will begin a half hour before curtain time when the theatre will come to life with a pre-show glimpse into the world of the mid-1940's.

Bob Lappin and The Palm Beach Pops are setting the stage for a tribute to The Music of Burt Bacharach, Cole Porter & More from November 29th - December 5th.The concert will feature John Pagano, Bacharach's lead singer for over 15 years and Broadway star Christine Andreas who just ended performing in La Cage Aux Folles with Kelsey Grammar. Songs that will be featured during this concert include Alfie, What The World Needs Now, Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head, Let's Fall in Love, Any Day Now and more.
