Orlando Shakes presents a fun-filled adaptation of a fairy tale Classic,
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Wanted: 6 charismatic children, 1 excitable audience, 2 defeat the Wicked Queen, 4 Fairy Tale Fun!

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF begins its 2011-2012 Theater for Young Audiences Series with an interactive and engaging adaptation of SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, playing at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center from July 7 through August 7, 2011.

Based on the classic fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS tells the famous story of a sweet girl who lives in the woods as part of a most unusual family - and of the Wicked Queen who will stop at nothing to be the most beautiful woman in the kingdom. Told with help from the younger members of audience, SNOW WHITE is wicked fun for the whole family.

In addition to public performances at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center, Orlando Shakes is excited to offer an opportunity for families to delve deeper into the fairy tale through a fun and interactive story time at Barnes and Noble on Saturday, July 9 at 11AM. Led by the cast of SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, this engaging 20-minute reading is an excellent precursor to the performance. Everyone attending will have a chance to win free tickets to attend a performance of SNOW WHITE at Orlando Shakespeare Theater. The story time for SNOW WHITE will take place at Barnes and Noble in the Colonial Plaza Market Place (2418 E Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32803).

Since 2002, Orlando Shakespeare Theater has provided quality productions for young people and their families. The Theater for Young Audience Season continues in October with a musical adaptation of MISS NELSON IS MISSING from October 20 to November 19, 2011 and CHARLOTTE'S WEB from March 29 to April 29, 2012. "This season offers families the opportunity to enjoy three dynamic adaptations based on works by well-known children's authors," Anne Hering, Orlando Shakes Director of Education commented. "The best part is that all these shows ignite the imagination and act as a launching point for theater appreciation as well as a life-long love of reading."
