A new solo work by acclaimed Australian dancer and choreographer Lucy Guerin, marking her first performance in thirteen years. Place Dances is a live reckoning with sixty years of dance thinking, beginning in lecture form and moving into physical expression through her body. It reflects on Guerin's ongoing choreographic preoccupations, presenting a present understanding of the effects of a lifetime of dance thinking, making and doing. The work features sound design by Alisdair Macindoe, lighting by Paul Lim, and dramaturgy and costume design by Kate Davis.
