ABOUT THE 39 STEPS

What do you get when you mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, and toss in a dollop of Monty Python? Why, you get The 39 Steps, of course, a fast-paced whodunit for people who love the magic of theatre! This two-time Tony Award®-winning and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of four), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance!

This madcap comedy is directed by George Contini, and features Stephanie Friedman making her Stage Door debut; Stage Door favorite Tony Larkin (Miracle on South Division Street, It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play); Stage Door fave and veteran John Markowski (The Game's Afoot, Lend Me A Tenor, Unnecessary Farce, Moon Over Buffalo, Leading Ladies); and Stage Door Artistic Associate and fan favorite as well, Jacob York (The Game's Afoot, It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, Unnecessary Farce). Ryan Stillings (Southern Comforts) returns to Stage Door Players, and Jillian Walzer debuts, both in supporting roles.

The production/design team includes Jim Alford (Costume Design), Hayley Brotherton (Production Manager), George Devours (Wig Design), Kathy Ellsworth (Props Design), Rial Ellsworth (Sound Design), Julie Skryzpek (Stage Manager), Chuck Welcome (Scenic Design), and John David Williams (Lighting Design).
