Meredith Patterson has just released MerieNYC, her debut album of original songs, now available exclusively through her new online store.

Patterson is currently starring as 'Judy Haynes' in the Los Angeles Company of White Christmas, returning to the role she originated in last year's San Francisco production. She made her Los Angeles theater debut in 2004 starring as "Louise Maske" opposite Dan Castellaneta in Steve Martin's play The Underpants at The Geffen Playhouse. She was recently seen with Bill Murray in the Focus Feature Film Broken Flowers (2005), and played 'Lady Alyssa' in Disney's Princess Diaries II (2004). On Broadway she starred as "Peggy Sawyer" in 42nd Street (2001-2002), and debuted in the play The Green Bird, directed by Julie Taymor. In the summer of 2003, she played 'Polly Browne' in The Boy Friend under the direction of the legendary Julie Andrews.

Patterson "has been writing music from the time she moved from Pleasant Hill, CA to New York City at the age of 18. Self taught in piano and guitar, Meredith's style is influenced by singer/songwriters Sheryl Crow, Tori Amos, Michelle Branch and John Mayer," according to press notes.

The album is a musical journal of her life in New York, as she struggles and succeeds in this business. MerieNYC contains 9 songs and 9 interludes. 8 of the songs are originals and one is a cover of a ballad written by Paul Williams and Roger Nichols titled "I Won't Last A Day Without You" originally recorded by Karen Carpenter in 1972. She "decided to include this track on her album because it was her gift to her new husband, actor Shonn Wiley, for their 1st anniversary."

The album is being sold for $10, and autographed for $15, exclusively through her website only. For the latter price, fans can buy 'MerieNYC' and have it personally autographed and a portion of the proceeds will go towards funding research for treatment and a cure for Huntington's Disease (HD) in partnership with The Huntington's Disease Society of America (www.hdsa.org). Patterson has been active in bringing awareness to HD and is currently setting up a yearly fundraiser for her cousin Carolyn who is currently suffering from the devastating disease.
