Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will begin rehearsals on September 4, 2012, in Chicago at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where this production originally began in December 2010. Previews will begin on September 27, 2012, at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street) on Broadway with an official opening on Saturday, October 13, 2012, exactly 50 years to the day of the play's original Broadway opening on Saturday, October 13, 1962. In addition, in honor of its 50th anniversary return to Broadway this fall, a special Box Office Opening Celebration will be held at the Booth Theatre on Thursday, August 30, 2012. Tickets for all preview performances will be available for a special price of $50. This special ticket offer can only be purchased in person at the box office and is available on August 30th only. The box office will open at 10:00 AM. The first 25 participants in line when the box office opens will receive a copy of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? autographed by three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee. Everyone in line at 10:00 AM will also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a prize package that includes a backstage tour and a dinner for two at Bond 45 Restaurant (154 West 45th Street).

This fall, one of America's most acclaimed theatre ensembles will take on one of the greatest plays of the 20th century when the Steppenwolf Theatre Company production of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? comes to Broadway to celebrate the play's 50th anniversary.

Previews will begin on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street) with opening night set for Saturday, October 13, 2012, exactly 50 years to the day of the play's original Broadway opening on Saturday, October 13, 1962.

Directed by Tony Award nominee Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park), the production will feature the original Steppenwolf cast led by Tracy Letts and Amy Morton, the playwright and the star of the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning smash hit August: Osage County. The two will face off as George and Martha, one of theatre's most notoriously dysfunctional couples in Albee's hilarious and provocative masterpiece. They will be joined by Carrie Coon and Madison Dirks as the unwitting young couple invited over to George and Martha's for an unforgettable night of cocktails and crossfire.

Tickets can be purchased at Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200.
