And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Phylicia Rashad, who turns 67 today!
Rashad last appeared on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Before that, she starred in August: Osage County, Cymbeline, A Wonderful Life, Gem of the Ocean, A Raisin in the Sun (which won her a Tony Award in 2004), Jelly's Last Jam, Into the Woods, Dreamgirls and The Wiz. Among her off-Broadway credits are Bernarda Alba, The Story, Helen, Blue, The Vagina Monologues and Everybody's Ruby. She often directs regional productions throughout the U.S. Rashad is well known for her Emmy-nominated role as 'Clair Huxtable' on The Cosby Show. Among her recent film credits are A Raisin in the Sun, Frankie & Alice, For Colored Girls and the TV movie remake of Steel Magnolias.
