Video: First Look at The New Original Hip-Hop Musical BUMP IT!

The contemporary musical inspired by true stories finishes out its final workshop for the Central Florida area with inviting back alumni from past workshops to perform some of the original scores for the first time!

The creative team of songwriters includes all newcomers producing impressive scores bound for giving future theatregoers and hip-hop lovers one thrilling theatrical experience! The list of songwriters includes Daniel Padillo (Music, Lyrics), Ashley Page (Music), Nicolas Womack (Music, Lyrics), Mexeita Rodney (Lyrics), Ismael Castillo (Lyrics, Script Supervisor) and Christopher D. Robinson (Book, Story, Music, Lyrics). TONY, GRAMMY and EMMY winner Andrés Forero of Broadway's In the Heights, Bring It On!, and Hamilton as Producer and Music Supervisor along with Producer/CEO of Magna Verum Productions Hector Sanchez, Jr.

For the month of July 2018 for two weeks, the team of writers get to experience hearing their empowering/upbeat scores performed by a number of local talented vocalists, and rappers for the very first time after spending over six months developing/re-developing the show's score.

Aside from the show being embodied primarily by Hip-Hop musical elements, the show's score also includes other musical genres from Gospel, Pop, Rock, Classical and much more all fused into one solid score of sounds to accompany the story.

Some of the artists that have inspired a handful of the music in 'Bump It' include: TLC, Logic, Will Smith, Montell Jordan, Naughty By Nature, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Destiny's Child, Missy, Elliot, Salt-N-Pepa, Jill Scott, Eminem, Luther Vandross, Tupac, Boys II Men, Snoop Dog, Mary J. Blidge, M.C. Lyte, Xscape, Chance the Rapper, Betty Wright, Alicia Keys, Outkast, L.M.F.A.O, Ariana Grande, Kirk Franklin, Michael Jackson, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Usher, Blackstreet, Whitney Houston, Aaliyah, R-Kelly, Quad City, Sir Mix A Lot, Coolio, SWV, Queen Latifa, Kriss Kross, D.J. Kool and many more!

The video highlights feature alumni performer Isaiah Galarza (Original Script Read Workshop 2018) and Iris Johnson (Original Script Read Workshop 2018) along with newcomers Gabi Hockensmith and Brannon Cloy performing two musical numbers from the show's score ("I Need You" Music by Christopher D. Robinson, Lyrics by Ismael Castillo with additional lyrics by Christopher D. Robinson. "Ladies of B.U." Music by Daniel Padillo, Additional Music by Christopher D. Robinson, Lyrics by Daniel Padillo and Christopher D. Robinson). The workshop series of 'Bump It!' has just one workshop remaining to be done in New York, NY during the month of August 2018.
