Video: DISNEY'S FROZEN Costume Designer Colleen Grady Reimagines Arendelle at Sacramento Music Circus

Sacramento Music Circus has released a behind-the-scenes video featuring Costume Designer Colleen Grady, who walks viewers through her process of reimagining the icy world of Arendelle for the Broadway At Music Circus production of DISNEY'S FROZEN. Grady originally built this costume package from the ground up for Theatre Under The Stars in Houston, and she has returned to the project to deepen the detail and innovation across the production's signature looks, from Elsa's crystalline silhouettes to the warmer textures of Anna's Arendellian wardrobe.
DISNEY'S FROZEN is based on the beloved 2013 Disney animated film and features a score by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the songwriting team behind "Let It Go" and "For the First Time in Forever," with a book by Jennifer Lee. The stage musical follows sisters Elsa and Anna as they navigate fear, identity, and the transformative power of love.
The Sacramento Music Circus production performs at the UC Davis Health Pavilion June 19 through 28, as part of the company's 75th anniversary season. The thrust staging of the pavilion presents particular creative challenges for a production of this visual scale, making Grady's costume work a central element in transporting audiences to Arendelle.
DISNEY'S FROZEN continues to attract regional productions across the country. Slow Burn Theatre Company presented the musical at the Broward Center's Amaturo Theater earlier this year, and the show's international footprint is also expanding, with Shiki Theatre Company set to open a long-run engagement in Osaka in 2027.
