VH1 Save The Music Foundation announces today two exclusive auctions through Julien's Auctions, the world record breaking auction house to the stars, for its one-of-a-kind artist and musician guitars as part of their 20th Anniversary project with Gibson Foundation. Each guitar pairs one musician with one visual artist to create one unique piece, with the goal of raising funds for music instruments for a dozen schools. In the past four months, the guitars were on display in New York and Los Angeles for the public to view for a limited time, and have also been signed and or played by their affiliated musician.

Julien's will host two separate auctions, the first of which will be October 19th in Los Angeles as part of Julien's biannual "Street, Contemporary and Celebrity Art" auction and includes custom guitars designed by popular innovative visual artists. The second, the "Rock N' Roll Icons" auction, will take place November 4th and includes custom guitars designed by or inspired by acclaimed musicians. Each guitar includes a custom VH1 Save The Music 20th Anniversary Gibson case made by TKL. Four guitars from the project will be auctioned separately at VH1 Save The Music Foundation's 20th Anniversary Gala in New York on October 16th, including Wyclef Jean (designed by Tiffanie Anderson), Joe Perry (designed by Fleetwood Covington), Billy Duffy (designed by D*Face), and Nile Rodgers.

"This project is special to VH1 Save The Music as it commemorates our 20th year in a big way, bringing together so many talented artists and musicians in support of our mission to make music available in every public school in America," said Henry Donahue, executive director of VH1 Save The Music Foundation. "We're incredibly grateful to every musician and artist involved and the Gibson Foundation for their support in creating these one-of-a-kind guitars."

Nearly 1 in 3 American students don't have access to a music education program, and an overwhelming majority of these students come from lower-income families or are in schools that often lack the resources to provide free instruments and full-time music teachers. VH1 Save The Music was the first organization dedicated to restoring these music programs, and, to date, the Foundation has donated $53M worth of new musical instruments to over 2,000 public schools in 257 school districts around the country-impacting millions of public school students.
