Tony Awards Committee Announces Final Eligibility for 2005 Nominations

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the fourth and final time to decide the eligibility of Broadway productions for the 2005 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theater Wing.

For All Shook Up, it was decided that Cheyenne Jackson and Jenn Gambatese will both be considered in the Best Lead Actor/Actress in a Musical categories. Also from All Shook Up Ken Roberson and Sergio Trujillo will be considered in the Best Choreography category.

For Glengarry Glen Ross, the entire company will be considered in the Best Featured Actor in a Play category.

For Steel Magnolias the entire company will be considered in the Best Featured Actress in a Play category.

For The Pillowman, Billy Crudup and Jeff Goldblum will be considered in the Best Lead Actor in a Play category while Željko Ivanek and Michael Stuhlbarg will be considered in the Best Featured Actor in a Play category. Also, the music from The Pillowman is eligible to be considered in the Best Original Score category.

For The Light in the Piazza, Victoria Clark will be considered in the Best Actress in a Musical category.

Finally, unreported from the Committee's April 14th meeting, Kate Reinders and David Larsen from Good Vibrations will both be considered in the Best Lead Actor/Actress in a Musical category.

All other decisions were consistent with the opening night credits.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met previously in September 2004 and in March and April, 2005, to consider shows which opened during the season. Today was the Committee's final meeting prior to the Tony Awards nomination announcements next Tuesday, May 10th.

The Tony Awards will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from Radio City Music Hall on the CBS television network Sunday, June 5th, hosted by Hugh Jackman.
