Welcome to BroadwayWorld's Tony Award Countdown: 30 Years In 30 Days, a look at some of the Tony Awards' most memorable moments from the past three decades.

While British actor James Corden's 2006 Broadway debut in THE HISTORY BOYS didn't exactly go unnoticed, he was just one of a talented ensemble of actors playing the young students preparing for their university entrance exams.

But television stardom soon followed, as creator and co-star of the popular BBC Three sitcom "Gavin & Stacey." His name was still unfamiliar to Broadway audiences in 2012 when he arrived in The National Theatre's production of Richard Bean's hilarious commedia-inspired ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS, but he had playgoers rolling in the aisles with physical bits and slapstick antics, playing a naïve lad who winds up working for two rival mobsters.

Four years ago he won the Tony for Best Actor in a play. This Sunday night, he hosts the whole she-bang.

The American Theatre Wing's 70th Annual Tony Awards, hosted by Tony Award winner James Corden, will air on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, June 12, 2016 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) live from the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
