Tickets are on sale now for Burlesque to Broadway at The Lehman Center in the Bronx.
Lehman Center for the Performing Arts presents the hot new musical extravaganza, Burlesque to Broadway starring the incomparable Quinn Lemley and directed by Tony Award winner Joseph Hardy. This one night only special event will take place on Saturday, April 17th at 8:00 PM at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts. The Lehman Center is on the campus of Lehman College/CUNY at 250 Bedford Park Blvd West in the Bronx.Tickets are priced at $25, $30 and $35 and can be purchased by calling the Lehman Center box office at 718-960-8833 or through 24-hour online access at www.lehmancenter.org. Lehman Center is accessible by #4 D train to Beford Park Blvd and is off the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Major Degan Expressway. Free on-site parking is available.
Burlesque to Broadway brings back the fun, excitement, gaiety of the Burlesque era as Quinn Lemley brings to life the songs and music of all the characters from that gilded time when Mae West , Sally Rand and Gypsy Rose Lee and others were captivating audiences. It was an outrageous world where humor and attitude prevailed in high energy, and this fast-paced musical extravaganza presents one show stopping hit after another. Sequins, feathers, gorgeous girls and of course, Quinn, pay homage to the music and that world that was called Burlesque.
Quinn Lemley is an actress and vocalists whose talents have graced many productions in New York, throughout the U.S. and in Europe and China. Her many stage credits in NY have included starring in The Heat is On! A Life in Concert Celebrating Rita Hayworth (which also toured nationally), Sirens of the Silver Screen, Born to Rhumba!, Wanda and The King of Hair. She has been seen performing on all the top television shows including "Good Morning America", "Geraldo" and "Oprah" among others. She will soon be seen along with Bette Midler and NOra Jones in the upcoming film release of The Greatest Ears in Town-The Arf Mardin Story. Quinn is a favorite in the top clubs of New York including the noted B.B. Kings Blues Club.
Born in the heart of America, Indiana, Quinn came from a family in the catering business so her first love and interest was food and wine. Her family then moved to France where she went to school and studied opera. Her love of theatre, movies and the stars of the silver screen came from "Granny Lemley" who would introduce her to the likes of legendary movie stars including Rita Hayworth, Mae West and Gypsy Rose Lee. Moving back to the U.S. and New York, Quinn studied at NYU Tisch School of the Arts with interest towards film and television production. When she is not performing, Quinn loves to entertain, produce special events and work on her many projects including Burlesque To Broadway, which is set to begin a national tour following the Lehman Center engagement.
