The Rockettes' NEW YORK SPRING SPECTACULAR Sets 2016 Dates, Gets New Name
MSG Entertainment's NEW YORK SPRING SPECTACULAR is returning this season -- in the summer!
MSGE announced today that the 2016 production, presented by Chase, will run in a 75-show engagement from June 15-August 7, 2016. To coincide with the change in time of year, the name of the production will be adjusted.
The show -- which celebrates the magic of New York City and stars the legendary Rockettes -- debuted in 2015 and, in its inaugural year, was extended by popular demand, selling nearly 300,000 tickets over its eight-week run. Ticket and additional information surrounding the 2016 production at Radio City Music Hall will be forthcoming.
"Coming off a successful inaugural run of NEW YORK SPRING SPECTACULAR at Radio City Music Hall, which was embraced by both New Yorkers and visitors alike, we have decided to shift the timing of the production to the summer," said David O'Connor, president & CEO, The Madison Square Garden Company. "During the summer months, New York City sees a significant increase in tourism and shifting the production will provide an opportunity for even more people to experience this dazzling musical celebration starring the Rockettes." NEW YORK SPRING SPECTACULAR stars the Rockettes and is a love letter to New York City, celebrating the energy, places, passion and promise that make New York spectacular. Cast and creative team information surrounding the 2016 production will be announced in the coming months. For more information, visit rockettes.com/spring. Audience reaction to the 2015 production was overwhelmingly positive in its first year and the show poised to become a perennial favorite to complement the long running and beloved Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Radio City Music Hall has always been known for its spectacular productions and NEW YORK SPRING SPECTACULAR raises the bar for live entertainment at this storied venue.Related Stories
