The Dare Tactic Presents Nkenna Akunna's GOOD FIT

The second workshop in The Dare Tactics 4th Season, Good Fit, by Nkenna Akunna, is a dark, absurdist play that comments on the limits and liberties assigned to particular identities in public space, asking who is allowed to fit into the fabric of society and who has the power to decide. Directed By Anna Loyd Bradshaw, with movement direction by Lyle Oberman, Good Fit is now on it's second draft, and is hoping to use this workshop production as a chance to figure out what truly comes to life on stage, and what needs to be reworked. "This is a sensitive piece about the prejudice faced by an a person who's identity is rarely explored on stage - this workshop can help us make sure we are honoring the complexity of character and culture that this piece deserves," says Akunna. Good Fit will be held at WOW Cafe Theatre on April 13th, 7:30pm. For Tickets, visit thedaretactic.org.

Casting for this workshop includes Karen Johal, Hana Chamoun, Ishani Das, Nora Kennedy, Declan Smith, Jack Gilliat, Liberty Baverstock, and Anna Frankl-Duval. Production team includes playwright Nkenna Akunna, director Anna Loyd Bradshaw, producer Laura Gold, and movement director Lyle Oberman.

Why this Piece?

"I wanted to think about the different ways terror exists and I wanted to explore the absurdity of Islamophobia." Says Akunna

Why The Dare Tactic?

"Good Fit is now on its second draft, and I'm hoping to use this workshop production as a chance to figure out what truly comes to life on stage, and what needs to be reworked. This is a sensitive piece about the prejudice faced by an a person who's identity I relate to, but I do not entirely share. I'm hoping this workshop can help us make sure we are honoring the complexity of character and culture that this piece deserves."
