This week on Broadwaysted we are so happy to sit down with #SuperFriendOfTheShow Aaron J Albano! We pour out some pinot noir (this time with the help of Aaron's fancy aerator) and discuss Aaron's versatile Broadway career--including his current experiences in the revival of Cats! (meow!)

Aaron spills about his wild big break story, the origin of his first Broadway battle scar, and how NEWSIES was a full-circle experience for him. Game Master Kimberly leads the group in "Dirty Hands on a Hardbody" and Kevin introduced a new game called "Broadway Matchmakers (Yenta Off)" where Aaron, Bryan, and Kimberly compete to pair up musical theatre character bachelors with musical theatre character matches. We argue on whether it's called "Salad Bowl" or "Celebrity," but whatever it is we play it with Lights of Broadway Show Cards (Michael Benedict!).

We talk about the Shakespeare shows we saw, what Bryan saw in Vegas, and then Aaron helps us discover our message for the children: "Stay in school, kids...unless Broadway calls." We have a blast this week so join us as Aaron gets Broadwaysted!

Aaron's Bio:

Aaron J. Albano discovered his love for performing as any first-generation Filipino boy would: singing solos in church. A San Jose, CA native, Aaron cultivated that love by joining his local children's theater (Children's Musical Theatre of San Jose), taking class at his local dance studio (Marie Stinnett Dance Studio), and attending the local performing arts magnet high school (Abraham Lincoln High School). That love grew to an aspiring career path, which led him to the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, OH, where he majored in musical theatre. Upon leaving school, Aaron immediately moved to New York City, where luckily he was quickly cast in his first Broadway show Bombay Dreams at the Broadway Theatre, in the ensemble and understudying the lead role of Akaash. Since then, Aaron has been seen on the Great White Way in eight Broadway shows, including the closing company of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as Chip Tolentino, and the original company of Newsies where he originated the role of Finch. Aaron happily resides in Sunnyside, NY, with his loving boyfriend and his dog Bandit. Follow Aaron @aaronjalbano
