The Latino International Theater Festival of New York, Inc. (LITF/NY) announced that the 4th Annual TeatroStageFest will take place June 17-30, 2010, featuring six acclaimed local and international productions, free outdoor performances, children/family events, play readings and multi-media and Clowning workshops. In a show of support, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-Winner Jimmy Smits (Dexter, NYPD Blue, Broadway's Anna in the Tropics and God of Carnage) is the featured Spokesperson of TeatroStageFest 2010's bilingual radio and television marketing campaigns.

"We are thrilled that Jimmy Smits jumped on board with the right dose of humor and excitement to help us spread the word about TeatroStageFest 2010's special focus on visual theater that transcends linguistic barriers. Circus arts, acrobatics, music, dance, and live video are at the heart of this year's festival program, although we are equally proud to celebrate the world-wide Day of the Spanish Language with Instituto Cervantes," announced Susana Tubert, Executive Producer of TeatroStageFest and LITF/NY's Co-Founder. "Mark your calendars and join our Fiesta of Visual Teatro for All Ages!"

When asked about the significance of TeatroStageFest, Jimmy Smits responded: "TeatroStageFest is the meeting point of Latino, Caribbean and Ibero-American cultures. As the Capital of Theater, New York City is enriched by the unique stories and view points of these productions from New York and around the world. Everyone should get their tickets to the most accessible and fun two weeks of the Summer at TeatroStageFest!"
