Sister Act to Open at Flat Rock Playhouse This Fall
Director Reggie Law returns to the company for his first musical, embracing a 1970s disco-era design.
Flat Rock Playhouse will present Sister Act, the joyous musical comedy that proves a little faith, a lot of music and a whole lot of sisterhood can change everything.
Running October 2–25, 2026, Sister Act brings the beloved story of a singer hiding out in a convent to the Flat Rock Playhouse stage in a high-energy production filled with unforgettable characters, powerhouse performances and a soundtrack that will have audiences dancing in their seats.
Based on the hit 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg, Sister Act follows Deloris Van Cartier, a talented nightclub singer whose life takes an unexpected turn when she witnesses a crime. Placed into protective custody at a convent, Deloris finds herself surrounded by a group of unconventional nuns—and soon transforms their struggling choir into the hottest act in town.
With a score featuring disco, soul, and gospel-inspired sounds, Sister Act delivers an uplifting theatrical experience packed with laughter, heart and music.
Reggie Law returns to Flat Rock Playhouse as director of Sister Act. "I'm excited to return to the Rock - and this time for my first musical with the company! We're having a great time embracing the show's 1970s setting, with scenery, costumes, and wigs that are a blast-from-the-past celebration of disco-era pop culture.
