As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, Beauty and the Beast has found its Lumiere! According to the Hollywood Reporter, stage and screen star Ewan McGregor has joined the star-studded cast of the much-anticipated film. Set for a release on March 17, 2017, the beloved tale will be retold for the big screen with a modern live-action lens and the help of transformative CG magic. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Emma Watson and Dan Stevens will star as Belle and the Beast/Prince respectively, and Luke Evans will play the role of Gaston. Emma Thompson has joined the cast as Mrs. Potts, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, and Kevin Kline as Belle's father, Maurice. Josh Gad will take on the role of Le Fou, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, and six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald will play Garderobe.

McGregor is no starnger to singing, and we can wait to see him in action. Gear up for his "Be Our Guest" with some of his past performances below!

McGregor consistently captivates audiences with a diverse line-up of roles across a multitude of genres, styles and scope. McGregor was last seen on the London stage in 2008 starring as 'Iago' opposite Chiwetel Ejiofor's Othello at the Donmar Warehouse, in a role he reprised on BBC Radio 3 in May 2008. Prior to that he starred alongside Jane Krakowski, Douglas Hodge and Jenna Russell in the original Donmar Warehouse production of Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly Theatre in London. For his performance in the leading role of 'Sky Masterson', McGregor received the LastMinute.com award for Best Actor and was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Earlier stage work includes a production of David Halliwell's Little Malcolm and His Struggles Against the Eunuchs, which was first staged at the Hampstead Theatre before transferring to the Comedy Theatre in London's West End.
