R.Evolución Latina received a record breaking number of applications for the 6th Annual Dare to Go Beyond (D2GB) Children's Performing Arts Camp, scheduled for July 29th-August 2nd in New York City. After evaluating applications, over 200 children from schools, organizations and individual applicants from underserved communities have been selected to take classes in acting, voice, music and dance.

The free-of-charge curriculum will utilize the arts to develop skills in leadership, collaboration, commitment, respect, and self-awareness, while promoting health, fitness, environmental awareness, and civic engagement. R.Evolución Latina's focus this year is cultural exchange, embracing who you are and where you come from, classes and activities will instill this using the components of performing arts. Furthering the cultural exchange, RL has invited 8 children from CAli Colombia who embody the motto of Dare to Go Beyond and the readiness to make a change in their communities. There are volunteers traveling from around the country and internationally from CAli Colombia, Lima, Peru to serve and empower campers during this week.

"Cultural Exchange is a natural component of our camp each year but this year we are focusing on it. Campers will share, learn and come to respect and admire each others culture and traditions." said Luis Salgado, Founder/Artistic Director of R.Evolución Latina. "To support this year's focus we will have classes in Cuban and Mexican folkloric dance, Puerto Rican Bomba/Plena and we have invited Peruvian choreographer Juan Pablo Lostannau to teach. All of this balanced with the culture of the Broadway artists who donate their time to teach these children."
