Playcrafters Of Skippack Presents YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN

Playcrafters of Skippack presents the charming and family friendly You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, with music and lyrics by Clark Gersner, as its last show of the 2018 season. This is the original version of the play, as premiered off Broadway in 1967.

Director Randall King, is proud of his very talented cast. "The characters are so well known that the challenge for director and actor alike was to make sure audiences would not be disappointed with our Peanuts gang", said King. "An adult playing the role of a child is difficult enough, but for an actor to play a role so well known is a special challenge. It only took a few rehearsals for me to realize just how talented this cast is! They delight me every time I watch them, and I'm confident audiences will have the same reaction". When asked why he chose to stage the original version rather than the1999 revival (which added the character of Sally and made Kristin Chenowth a star), King quoted a critic's review from that time: "With its mixture of innocence, wisdom, and unexpected pathos (the original version) was a great success. Then came the 1999 Broadway production. Critics and audiences liked certain performers, but almost everyone agreed the revised material and the over-the-top production did not suit the material." He has remained faithful to the original (with the exception of augmenting the single piano with upright bass, flute and percussion).
