Jim Dale, who is currently starring in Broadway's The Threepenny Opera and who won a Tony Award for his performance in the title role of Barnum, stopped by to visit the cast of the Westchester Broadway Theatre's upcoming production of the Cy Coleman/Michael Stewart musical. They are currently rehearsing at Nola Studios in NYC.

WBT is presenting the brassy musical from May 4th through July 8th, with an opening set for May 11th. Based on the life of the flamboyant circus impresario P.T. Barnum, the show features music by Coleman, lyrics by Stewart and a book by Mark Bramble. Barnum "blends circus arts with Broadway skill. A lot of the credit goes to director/choreography Joe Layton for his imaginative staging of the original Broadway production. His choreography fills the stage with color-- every where you look there are clowns, jugglers, acrobats, tumblers, baton twirlers, tightrope walkers, and trapeze artists," state Westchester notes.

The production will star Tony Lawson as P.T. Barnum, Ann Van Cleave as Chairy Barnum, Alison Spratt as Jenny Lind, Terri White (who was in the original Broadway production) as Joyce Heth and Courter Simmons as Tom Thumb. The production is choreographed and directed by Ray Roderick.
